Evolution points of the TRICITY 2026 model

New design incorporating SUV essence

The new TRICITY inherits the “Y” motif face that is the identity of the TRICITY series, while adopting a new style that incorporates the “inverted trapezoid silhouette” and “horizontal theme” that are icons of the higher-end model, the TRICITY300.

While maintaining the same easy-to-handle size as before, the new model has a “crossover commuter” design that incorporates SUV elements, such as plastic fenders and a passenger grip that evokes roof rails. The face features a “Y” motif, made up of new lights, and the inverted trapezoid silhouette gives a sense of stability and lightness, creating an impressive impression.

A connected experience with a 4.2-inch TFT display

A notable new feature is the 4.2-inch TFT display that works with the “Y-Connect” app. When the app is installed on a smartphone and connected to the vehicle unit, it works with the navigation function provided by Google, and the “Turn by Turn” navigation display, which shows the direction to go at intersections and other locations using arrow icons and distance, is displayed on the screen.

In addition to displaying vehicle and smartphone information via Bluetooth, it can also display emails and incoming calls, and make calls (a headset is required for calls). The display can be switched by operating a switch on the left handlebar, and there are two options: a “function-centered display mode” and an “emotional mode in which the function bar undulates according to the engine speed.”

Practical equipment to improve commuter functionality

Equipped with a USB Type-C charging socket

A new charging socket compatible with USB Type-C terminals, which is convenient for charging smartphones, etc., has been installed on the left side of the front inner panel. This is practical equipment that suits modern lifestyles.

TRICITY155 exclusive safety equipment

The TRICITY155 is equipped with two advanced features that further enhance safety.

**ESS (Emergency Stop Signal)** is a function that notifies following vehicles that the vehicle is in an emergency deceleration state by flashing the front and rear flashers when the vehicle detects sudden braking.

The **TCS (Traction Control System** uses sensors on the front and rear wheels to constantly detect signs of rear wheel spin and adjusts the fuel supply to suppress rear wheel spin. This is an important function that supports smooth starting and acceleration on a variety of road conditions.

LMW technology creates a unique driving sensation

The TRICITY155/125 is a commuter bike that combines stable cornering and high-quality cruising thanks to Yamaha’s unique “LMW Ackermann Geometry” and “LMW Technology.”

LMW Ackermann Geometry is a Yamaha-exclusive structure that uses an offset joint that shifts the steering axis (knuckle end) and lean axis, allowing the two front wheels, which lean and have a difference in wheel position between the inside and outside, to always face the direction of turning.

LMW technology is a technology that contributes to achieving both a sense of lightness and stability through a suspension and steering mechanism that uses a parallelogram link consisting of two parallel arms, one above the other.

Environmental performance with the BLUE CORE engine

The engines of the “TRICITY155 ABS” and “TRICITY125 ABS” were developed based on Yamaha’s “BLUE CORE” concept. By focusing on three points – highly efficient combustion, excellent cooling performance, and reduced loss – the engines achieve a high level of both “fun to ride” and “fuel economy and environmental performance.”
