New features of the 2025 model

1) Improved environmental performance through ECU changes, etc.

2) Changes to the intake system that produces a clearer sound and the exhaust system that produces linear driving force

3) New clutch settings that contribute to smoother operation

4) Adoption of BC (Brake Control) (ABS that responds to banking angles using a 6-axis “IMU”)

5) New front mask design

6) Compatible with the dedicated smartphone app “YAMAHA Motorcycle Connect (Y-Connect)”, etc.

The premium model, the TMAX560 TECH MAX ABS, now features new features such as

1) machined wheels with a hairline finish,

2) TPMS® (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)*, and

3) new grip warmers that heat up more easily.

Equipment such as a cruise control system, electrically adjustable screen, heated main seats, adjustable rear suspension, handlebar switch backlights, and one-push start remain.

The TMAX560 TECH MAX ABS is available in two colors: “Matte Dark Reddish Gray,” whose deep red flakes sparkle in natural light, asserting a hidden strength, and “Gray,” which has an inorganic, modern impression symbolizing the evolution of the TMAX. The TMAX560 ABS is available in “Matte Black,” which combines metallic and matte black with blue wheels to express a technical, sporty character.

Main features of the new “TMAX560”

1) Improved environmental performance while maintaining drivability

To achieve excellent environmental performance, an O₂ sensor has been added behind the catalyst. At the same time, the ECU has been updated, improving environmental performance while retaining the same excellent power and drivability as before.

2) Clear intake sound thanks to new funnels, and linear response thanks to revised exhaust system specifications

The sound has been tuned to emphasize the TMAX’s distinctive features of “acceleration feel and quietness while cruising.” The intake funnels are new, with careful consideration given to length, rigidity, hole diameter, position, and other factors. Low-frequency components are reduced when merging or overtaking on the highway, or when the throttle is wide open, resulting in a sound with less “muffled noise.” In addition, the exhaust flow has been smoothed to emphasize linear drive characteristics. The joint between the exhaust port and exhaust pipe is TIG welded, a method that has been proven in the manufacturing process for the YZF-R1/R6, resulting in a smooth finish to the inner surface of the muffler. This contributes to linear response to throttle operation.

3) Changes to the wet centrifugal multi-plate clutch specifications

New clutch settings have been implemented to further refine the seamless acceleration characteristics when starting from a standstill. The number of weights has been changed from 12 in the 2022 model to 10, and the clutch spring has also been optimized. This provides seamlessness throughout the entire development process, as well as smooth characteristics when the clutch is repeatedly engaged and disengaged at extremely low speeds up to around 10 km/h.

4) Adoption of BC (Brake Control)

The control system “BC (Brake Control)” is used to assist driving during deceleration. Information from the front wheel speed, rear wheel speed, and 6-axis IMU is collected and calculated in the “HU (including hydro unit/ABS unit)” and reflected in the brake pressure on the front and rear wheels when the ABS is activated. Brake control is performed according to the bank angle. “OFF” can also be selected, and in the “OFF” state, only the normal ABS function works, which is not linked to the vehicle’s bank angle.

5) Newly designed front mask

While the front face of the 2024 model emphasizes a sense of speed, this model has a slightly more tucked-in look, creating a more gentle atmosphere. Furthermore, the position lights have a distinctive line shape that resembles the letter “T.”

6) Other features include compatibility with the “Y-Connect” app

The 2024 model is compatible with the “MyRide-Link” app, but this time, in order to enhance the “connected” functions and improve convenience, the CCU* has been upgraded to make it compatible with the “Y-Connect” app. By installing the motorcycle navigation app “Garmin Motorize(TM)” and pairing it with the vehicle, the navigation function can be used on the TFT meter.

In addition, the model has a D-MODE (riding mode switching system) setting that further highlights the characteristics of Sport Mode (S) and Touring Mode (T), an ESS (emergency stop signal) and a redesigned TFT display.

*CCU = Communication Control Unit (the part that controls the exchange of information between smartphones and the vehicle)
