Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Yamaha) has redesigned its adventure model, the Ténéré 700 ABS, and will release it as a 2025 model on March 31st. The price is 1,452,000 yen (tax included). They also plan to sell an accessory package called the Ténéré 700 ABS Low, which includes a lowering seat and lowering links. The price is expected to be 1,474,000 yen (tax included).
Electronically controlled throttle for more “flip”

The new model was developed based on the concept of “The Total Ténéré – Top in Adventure,” and while it offers improved off-road performance, it also offers greater convenience for touring.
The main changes include the adoption of “YCC-T” (Electronically Controlled Throttle), which realizes smooth torque characteristics across the entire rotation range. This supports the CP2 engine’s linear and smooth acceleration, and realizes output characteristics that respond linearly to the rider’s operation. In addition, changes to the intake shape have achieved an increase in torque at low rotation ranges, further improving off-road performance at low speeds.
Next, the bike has been equipped with enhanced riding support technologies, including a riding mode switching system and traction control. Two riding modes are available: “SPORT” for off-road riding and “EXPLORER” for ease of handling in the city, and the traction control (TCS) can be switched on or off. Furthermore, a quick shifter that allows up- and down-shifting during acceleration and deceleration is also available as an optional accessory. The ABS continues to be equipped with three modes: front and rear ON, front and rear OFF, or rear only OFF.
The front suspension is newly equipped with a preload adjuster

The front and rear suspensions have also been optimized. The inverted front suspension with 43mm diameter inner tubes has revised valve settings and a preload adjuster has been added. This makes initial action smoother, making it easier to feel the road on the ground. The rear suspension also has an increased stroke and uses a link-type Monocross suspension with a reservoir tank that has damping characteristics that make it less likely to bottom out. It works in harmony with the front and delivers high performance even under harsh conditions.
To improve riding freedom, an integrated flat seat has been adopted and the fuel cap has been changed to a flat type. The shape of the fuel tank has also been revised, with the top surface kept low, visually expressing the ease of rider movement on the vehicle. The clutch push lever position has also been changed, with the actuation point moved 35 degrees rearward. The protection cover has also been changed, with a layout that does not interfere with riding boots.
Enhanced smartphone connect function

The model features a specially designed 6.3-inch full-color TFT vertical meter and is equipped with a wide range of functions, including intuitively operable new handlebar switches. In addition to the speedometer and tachometer, the meter also features display functions such as a fuel gauge, average fuel consumption, water temperature gauge, air temperature gauge, and shift indicator. Information on each function is controlled using the new integrated handlebar switches. Display patterns can be selected from two design themes: “EXPLORER” and “STREET.”
By connecting the vehicle to a smartphone with the dedicated app “Y-Connect” installed, various content such as incoming call and email notifications can be used. Furthermore, by linking with Google Maps via the smartphone, navigation can be displayed in a turn-by-turn format, showing the direction to go at intersections and other locations with arrow icons. A USB-C charging port is also standard equipment.
Changed the headlights to create a more masculine image

The headlights have been changed from the previous round four-lamp LED to a sharper square shape, and are now mounted slightly higher. The light distribution has been redesigned to ensure sufficient light output, creating a fresh and aggressive impression. The exterior has also been completely redesigned, and the distinctive high face and slender bodywork have retained the original silhouette that makes it instantly recognizable as an adventure model.
The coloring is available in three colors: “Blue,” which symbolizes Yamaha’s sporty image; “Matte Gray,” which expresses a robust and adventurous image and matches outdoor situations; and “Light Blue,” which is reminiscent of Yamaha’s rally machines from the early 1980s.
Other new features include a side stand switch that has been repositioned and fitted with a cover. This makes it less likely to come into contact with logs or rocky areas, supporting off-road riding. Larger footrests have also been adopted, contributing to improved comfort and machine control. The rubber can be removed, and when fitted, it improves comfort when touring, while when removed, it contributes to better grip when riding off-road. Newly equipped are flashers with a “two-stage flasher function” and “forget-to-turn-off function.”
The new Ténéré 700 is an adventure bike that offers a higher level of balance between off-road performance and touring utility, with excellent durability, ease of maintenance, and adaptability when carrying luggage.
