Yamaha Motor’s Indian subsidiary has launched the FZ-X Hybrid locally. This model is based on the existing FZ-X and incorporates an innovative hybrid system. Because the electric motor supports the engine when accelerating from a standstill, the timing of torque build-up is sharper than before, which can be felt when dashing through traffic lights in the city or accelerating out of a roundabout.
It also comes equipped with the SSS (Start & Stop System), which automatically stops idling when waiting at traffic lights, and then quietly restarts the engine by simply pulling the clutch lever.
