The front forks and triple trees are modified versions of the standard SHOTGUN 650. The swingarm is an original machined aluminum part with a hollowed-out body.

Based on the new model “SHOTGUN 650” released by Royal Enfield in 2024, this custom bike is called “SAMURAI” and was created by Takuya Aikawa, the representative of the custom factory “SURESHOT” based in Yachimata City, Chiba Prefecture.
The exterior, inspired by Japanese samurai, exudes a dignified atmosphere while creating a unique atmosphere that evokes the feeling of “wabi-sabi” (Note 1).
*Note 1: Wabi-sabi is a uniquely Japanese aesthetic. It refers to the feeling that modest and simple things have charm.

The engine is based on the standard air-oil cooled 4-stroke parallel twin-cylinder SOHC 648cc, but the displacement has been increased to 865cc using an S&S big bore kit. A DYNOJET power commander has also been installed, and the fuel injection settings and ignition system have been tuned. Another key point is the use of a chassis dynamometer to increase power, improve durability and comfort, and pursue the perfect settings.
The front forks and triple trees are standard parts from the SHOTGUN 650, but have been modified. The swingarm is an original, machined aluminum design with lightening applied to the body. The rear shock is a link-type monoshock designed by Aikawa himself, with the rear shock unit located under the seat.
The front and rear wheels are different diameters, 21 inches in the front and 16 inches in the rear, and are original machined aluminum wheels. The front tire is a DURO 3.25-21, and the rear tire is an ultra-wide slick tire for drag racing. The front and rear brakes are disc type, with the front adopting an inboard disc structure with a disc brake built into the hub in the center of the wheel.
SAMURAI competed in the Open Tournament class of the fifth round of the drag racing championship “JD-STAR (0-400m)” held at the JARI Shirosato Test Center in Ibaraki Prefecture on November 4, 2024. Although the car and engine had just been assembled and the settings had not yet been fully refined, the car recorded a best time of 12.804 seconds.
