What is the popular model “NMAX155”?
One model that attracted particular attention at the motorcycle shows held in March and April was Yamaha’s new NMAX155.
The highlight of this model is the newly adopted “YECVT.” This is a system that allows the rider to change the CVT gear ratio at will through electronic control, and is an excellent product that allows you to experience the driving feel of a manual transmission vehicle, which was difficult with conventional mechanical CVTs. For example, when you want to overtake the vehicle in front or when you need engine braking on a downhill slope, or when you want to control deceleration when entering a corner or accelerate quickly, this adds a touch of dynamics to your driving and adds to the fun of more active control. Operation is simple, and you can downshift up to three levels using the shift button depending on acceleration and deceleration.
The water-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve, 155cc Blue Core engine has also evolved with the addition of the YECVT. The maximum output of 15ps and the two riding modes (T mode/S mode) remain the same as before, but the crank, muffler, and oil pump have been redesigned to improve cooling efficiency. The cam chain tensioner has been changed to a hydraulic type to reduce friction, further improving basic performance.

Simply press the SHIFT button or open the throttle quickly to downshift up to three stages depending on the acceleration/deceleration state.
The suspension settings have been changed, with the rear stroke extended by 5mm to optimize damping characteristics, and an oil lock mechanism added to the front to improve the feeling when carrying heavy loads or going over large bumps.
The newly designed meter features two displays, an LCD on top and a TFT on the bottom, making it easier to read and giving it a premium feel. The lights have also been fully converted to LED, giving it a sharper appearance.
The design and texture that can only be achieved with genuine customization!
Now, I would like to introduce some items released by Y’s Gear that will further enhance the unique appeal of the new NMAX 155.
The advantage of the 155 being a light motorcycle is that it can be ridden on highways. This means that it can easily go on long-distance touring with a passenger. What’s essential for this is a high windscreen to protect from the wind while riding, and a rear carrier that can carry large items. We also recommend the foot panels, which dress up your feet with a design and fit that suits the new model. Not only do they look great, but they also support the sporty riding that makes the most of the YECVT with their high rigidity and grip.
