“Bikes Weekly News Digest” introduces all the notable news announced in the previous week. This time, we will introduce the news announced from February 3rd to 9th, 2025.
Connecting people who want maintenance work done with people who want it done, and also renting out space

Osaka-based motorcycle specialty store “Nirudokoro Esperanto” has launched a new rental pit service called “Matching Pit.” This service is a matching platform that connects people who want to help with motorcycle maintenance with people who need help. Many riders are interested in motorcycle maintenance but face challenges such as “no space,” “no tools,” “uneasy about doing it alone,” and “not knowing how to do it.” On the other hand, people with maintenance skills have also expressed a desire to “help others” and “share their knowledge and experience.” Matching Pit was created to connect the needs of these two groups.
This service provides a one-stop shop for the “location” and “connections” needed for maintenance. Beginners can learn maintenance in a fun way while eliminating their anxieties by receiving direct advice from experienced riders and working together. Experienced riders can use their skills to support other riders and have the opportunity to meet new friends. In addition, by using rental pits equipped with tools and space, they can safely carry out professional work that would be difficult to do at home. This offers a new experience that transforms maintenance from a “solo task” into a “place for connections and learning.”
While DIY maintenance can be fun, you may encounter some difficult parts along the way. Even in such cases, “Esperanto Motorcycle Shop” has a support system in place that allows you to add “paid work help.” For example, if you get stuck in a task, make a mistake, or need to correct a part that is difficult to do by hand, professional staff will respond appropriately on-site to ensure a safe finish. In this way, the company aims to be a rental pit that provides a sense of security not only for beginners but also for experienced riders.
The method of use is as follows. First, those who wish to request maintenance create a new topic (thread) on the topic list screen on the official website. It is recommended to include the vehicle model and the type of work to be done in the topic name. Next, those who wish to undertake maintenance select a topic of interest from the topic list. Within each topic, they can freely negotiate the vehicle model, type of work, price, etc., and if the details are agreed upon, a match is made.
After that, when you contact the official LINE or official email address with the URL of the topic, Motorcycle Shop Esperanto will send the URL of the dedicated message board to both email addresses of the matched parties. The date and time of the work can be arranged on the dedicated message board, and once the date and time are decided, you can make a reservation for pit use using the reservation form. On the day of the work, staff will be on-site to agree to the terms of use and explain how to use the pit, and after the work is completed, the pit fee and payment to the client will be made on-site to complete the work.
The standard practice is to leave motorcycle maintenance to a professional mechanic, which of course incurs costs. If this service becomes more widespread, it could become possible to provide maintenance services as a side job, which could be the birth of a new business.
