The naked model based on the RS660 has evolved. From this model onwards, the only grade available is the TUONO660Factory.

Named Tuono, which means “thunder” in Italian, this naked sports bike is based on Aprilia’s supersports. The Tuono 660 is a half-cowl naked model based on the RS660. It is equipped with a water-cooled parallel twin-cylinder DOHC 4-valve engine. The maximum output, which was previously 95 HP, has been increased to 105 HP with this model change by enlarging the throttle body diameter from φ48mm to φ52mm. The asymmetrical combustion chamber and 270° crank angle result in irregular ignition, resulting in a sound similar to a V-twin.

With this model change, the TUONO660 Factory is now the only grade available. Like the RS660 Factory, both front and rear suspensions are made by Ohlins. The front is equipped with a 43mm NIX30 series inverted fork, and the rear is equipped with an STX46 shock absorber. The shock absorber has a built-in reservoir, and both units can be adjusted for rebound, compression damping, and spring preload.

The bike is also equipped with advanced electronic devices, including APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) with an electronic ride-by-wire accelerator and an inertial 6-axis platform. APRC uses accelerometers and gyroscopes to recognize road and bike conditions, record and process data acquired during riding, and transmit it to the control unit, which then optimizes control parameters and intervenes. Other features include ALC (Launch Control), which manages standing starts used in competition vehicles, and ATC (Aprilia Traction Control), an adjustable traction control system. Other features include AWC (Aprilia Wheelie Control), which features high-performance fine-tuning intervention logic; ACC (Aprilia Cruise Control), which maintains a set speed without using throttle control; AQS (Aprilia Quick Shift), an electronic gearbox that enables fast gear changes without releasing the foot pedal or using the clutch; AEB (Aprilia Engine Brake Control), which provides adjustable engine braking control when the throttle is off; and AEM (Aprilia Engine Mapping), which changes the engine’s power characteristics and distribution. Also included is the Multi-Map ABS Cornering system, which, as before, optimises braking and ABS intervention in bends thanks to a specific algorithm, constantly monitoring various parameters such as lateral acceleration, front brake lever input, turning, roll and yaw angle to adapt the braking action and achieve the best possible combination of deceleration and stability.

Both the front and rear suspensions are made by Ohlins.

The meter section uses a 5-inch color LCD. The panel has been improved in brightness and with reduced reflection, greatly improving visibility. It has been improved to make it easier to check various information. In addition, the switches around the handlebars are equipped with backlights, making them easy to see even at night.

The exterior design of the new Tuono 660 stands out with its sharp look thanks to the adoption of small footrests that emphasize its sporty image and aerodynamic twin fairings. The air pressure flowing between the two fairings improves stability at high speeds and improves rider comfort by diverting the hot air extracted from the engine so that it does not hit the rider directly. The design of the front area has also been completely redesigned, resulting in an overall streamlined form.

A single seat tail is included, which can be replaced with the passenger seat to create a single seat.
