Traditional graphics that make “Japan” known to the world
Arai Helmets believes that “dodgement performance” is the most important factor in protecting the head with limited impact absorption performance. The RX-7X, the pinnacle of Arai’s full face helmets, is a model that can be said to be a favorite among racers, with a smooth shell that easily deflects impacts, which Arai pursues, and added unique comfort to it.
The newly added graphic, “NAKAGAMI GP3,” is a replica of Takaaki Nakagami, a GP rider from Chiba Prefecture. At age 14, he won the All Japan Road Race Championship GP125 class, winning every race. At age 20, he competed in the Moto2 class of the MotoGP World Championship and is currently competing in the MotoGP class as the only Japanese rider for the IDEMITSU HONDA LCR team. This graphic is a special version of the popular design worn since the 2023 Japan round. The top of the head, resembling the Japanese flag, features an auspicious plum-knot mizuhiki pattern surrounded by an octagon. The Japanese pattern on the side, with scattered flowers resembling lacquerware, is also an original octagonal clover design. The family crest, shippo (shippo) motif, wave, and hemp patterns fully express the elegant image of Japan, and the color scheme will make an impact on people around the world as the face of a rider representing Japan. This unique design is sure to suit a bold four-cylinder supersport bike.
Embodying Arai’s functional beauty, feedbacked from actual combat
The RX-7X is Arai’s flagship full-face helmet, adhering to its philosophy of protection performance. The sleek shell is made with “PB-cLc2,” a special glass fiber with a higher fiber density than regular glass fiber and 40% higher tensile and compressive strength. The lightweight organic AR mat (internal material), combined as a composite material, has also been improved to adhere better to the latest super fiber, enhancing the strength of the SNC assembled with a net structure. While retaining Arai’s unique “R75 Shape” sleek shell design that deflects impacts, the shield mounting point has been lowered 24mm based on the proven Snell standard test line, resulting in a smoother shape for the side of the helmet.
The hyper rib that wraps around the bottom of the cap acts as a shock absorber like a car bumper, improving pressure resistance from the sides. The side also has a flat surface to make it easy to mount an intercom, which is essential for touring.
The distinctive diffuser system, “Diffuser Type 12,” has been extended approximately 20 mm at the rear and features a shape that narrows down on both sides. The spoiler function, combined with the variable aero fin at the rear, has been improved to further reduce turbulence behind the vehicle at high speeds. Air intake efficiency has been improved by 19% compared to the Diffuser Type 10 (RX-7 RR5). In addition, the operation switch has been enlarged, allowing for reliable adjustment of the air intake volume when the door is fully open or half open, and soundproofing and rainproofing performance when the door is fully closed have also been improved.
Other features include an IC duct 5 located in the center of the top of the head, air channels that improve ventilation performance inside the shield, inner side ducts that improve the cooling effect above the ears, and an NE nozzle, ensuring comfort that is just as high as safety.
The shield is equipped with a Max Vision shield that provides good visibility in a wide range of riding situations. An anti-fog Pinlock sheet can be installed as an option.
The interior is made of Eco Pure, a functional fiber that maintains the same weak acidity as bare skin and has antibacterial, deodorizing, and stain-resistant properties. The improved fit of the system interior, which has a completely redesigned frame, is also not to be missed.
