The engine, which complies with the latest Euro 5 regulations, is a traditional Moto Guzzi air-cooled, four-stroke, horizontally mounted 90° V-twin OHV two-valve engine with a displacement of 853.4cc, with the cylinders and cylinder heads located at either knee level.

Maximum power output has increased by 4% from 65hp/6,800rpm to 67.3hp/6,900rpm, while maximum torque has increased from 73N・m/5,000rpm to 79N・m/4,400rpm, with 95% of the torque being available at 3,500rpm.

The V7 Sport replaces the traditional cable throttle with an electronically controlled throttle with a 52mm throttle body, allowing for precise throttle opening, optimising overall efficiency and fuel consumption.

The additional electronic control system, “SPORT Riding Mode”, developed exclusively for the V7 Sport, minimizes traction control intervention, improving riding performance on dry asphalt while increasing safety.

The first generation Moto Guzzi V7 Sport was a big hit in endurance races around 1970.
Moto Guzzi is a long-established motorcycle brand founded in Italy in 1921. The company’s basic V7 series currently includes the V7 Stone and V7 Special. At EICMA 2024, the V7 Sport, pictured, was announced as the “most evolved V7.”
The first generation “V7 Sports” is a legendary car known only to those in the know, which was highly successful in endurance races around 1970. The new V7 Sports, which is scheduled for a revival, is reminiscent of the classic V7 Sports and is equipped with sporty features not found in the existing models “V7 Stone” and “V7 Special”.
The engine, which complies with the latest Euro 5 regulations, is a traditional Moto Guzzi air-cooled, four-stroke, horizontally mounted 90° V-twin OHV two-valve engine with a displacement of 853.4cc, with the cylinders and cylinder heads positioned at either side of the rider’s knees. Its bore diameter and stroke length are a short stroke of 84mm x 77mm. It retains the same outstanding engine features, including a valve system with roller tappets, aluminum pushrods for the rocker arms, and lightweight pistons with 20mm diameter pins.
The dry clutch uses a reinforced disc under the clutch plate and a high-performance clutch disc. The triple-slot synchronizer system also reduces engagement noise and transmission play, especially in first gear. The transmission is six-speed.

This has resulted in more flexible performance, especially in the low and mid-range, improving comfort and ride quality in city driving and providing a more dynamic ride.

The V7 Sport replaces the conventional cable throttle with an electronically controlled throttle with a 52mm throttle body. This system allows precise throttle opening, optimizing overall efficiency and fuel consumption. Parameters such as MGCT traction control and throttle response are also electronically managed through riding modes. The ROAD and RAIN riding modes are available on all V7 models, while the SPORT riding mode was developed exclusively for the V7 Sport.
An additional SPORT riding mode, developed exclusively for the V7 Sport, minimizes traction control intervention, enhancing safety and delivering thrilling riding on dry asphalt. It also introduces an engine map that delivers a more responsive and dynamic throttle feel. ABS is now active on both wheels, optimised for cornering.
Cruise control is fitted as standard on all V7 models, allowing the rider to maintain a set speed. To activate the system, simply press and hold the designated button on the left-hand switch cube.
The V7 Sport’s “6-axis inertial platform” represents a major advancement in the electronic control system. It uses built-in accelerometers and gyroscopes to detect the bike’s position relative to the road, record and process riding inputs, and send the data to the ECU. This allows for more precise and accurate electronic control, activating the cornering ABS and cornering traction control functions. These functions adjust braking force and engine output based on lean angle, improving safety and performance.
The V7 Sport’s unique six-spoke cast wheels are 1.8kg lighter than those for the V7 Stone, improving handling.

The steel frame retains the classic double-cradle design, while the seat, handlebars and footpegs, unique to the V7 series, remain unchanged, ensuring comfort for riders of all sizes with a comfortable seat and well-positioned aluminium footpegs.
The V7 Stone and V7 Special retain the conventional Φ40mm telescopic fork, while the V7 Sport introduces a new inverted Φ41mm USD fork with preload adjustment, emphasizing the model’s focus on sportier and more dynamic riding.
The rear suspension features twin shock absorbers with adjustable preload, ensuring a comfortable ride even on uneven roads, while providing a progressive and smooth ride in all conditions, even with a passenger.
The 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels are six-spoke cast wheels unique to the V7 Sport, which are 1.8 kg lighter than those used on the V7 Stone, improving handling.
The V7 Sport is equipped with a disc brake system that delivers stable and powerful braking performance even during aggressive driving. The front features a Brembo monoblock radially mounted 4-piston caliper and a 320mm floating stainless steel disc rotor in a double combination. The rear features a 2-piston caliper and a 260mm disc rotor.
