Emphasizes WYVERN’s sporting spirit
The WYVERN series has been popular with many riders for its unique form. The new WYVERN Ø, which inherits the history and tradition from the first model released in 1997 while incorporating SHOEI’s latest technology, has already added a new graphic model, REBOOT, to its lineup.
The simple helmet body features a bold racing stripe with a swivel pattern, and the large SHOEI logo on the side creates a powerful image reminiscent of American muscle cars from the 1970s. The WYVERN Ø embodies a romantic world that relentlessly pursues solitude, supremacy and speed while maintaining modern comfort. This subtle retro color would look great on not only historic classics, but also power cruisers and the latest super nakeds equipped with super sports engines.

Pursuing the origins of the WYVERN series: “Ø (Zero)”
Among SHOEI helmets, the WYVERN had a unique design. The first model was released in 1997. Its name, which has its roots in medieval European dragons, and its outlaw styling, as seen in the film “Mad Max,” matched the style of certain motorcyclists in the 1990s. The helmet was also worn by the Katana-riding protagonist of Shohei Higashimoto’s motorcycle manga “Kirin,” and in addition to the aforementioned outlaw image, it also exuded a stoic, solitary image. It became recognized as a model with a unique worldview. In 2003, it evolved into the WYVERN II with updated functionality, and was subsequently discontinued to much acclaim. However, it has now been revived as the S “WYVERN Ø,” inheriting the history and tradition of the WYVERN series, and is now included in the SHOEI NEO CLASSIC LINE lineup.
The helmet body inherits the spirit of the WYVERN series, and reproduces a stylish front form with a sharp chin bar design and a shell shape with minimal undulations. Its simple design stands out among the SHOEI NEO CLASSIC LINE.
The WYVERN Ø concept is to offer a comfortable riding experience that is in line with modern times while inheriting traditional shell design. The ventilation system combines functionality with a classic design. The wind taken in from the lower air intake is directed inside the shield and functions as a defroster, eliminating fogging on the shield. To reproduce the unique and stylish front form of the WYVERN series, the opening and closing shutter of the lower air intake is installed inside. This improves functionality without compromising design.
The three slits on the left and right sides of the chin bar, a distinctive feature of the Wyvern, are not only reminiscent of the design of the old Wyvern series, but also function as lower air outlets to expel hot air from the cheek area. The air passes through the air route inside the chin bar and is expelled from the cheek pad area, where heat tends to build up and fit snugly against the cheek. The simple upper air intake and top air outlet, with their old-fashioned look, have been thoroughly tested in our large-scale wind tunnel testing facility, and are shaped to enhance the Wyvern Ø design while also pursuing ventilation performance.
The shield uses the CWR-F2 shield, which has optimized curvature and thickness in different areas to enhance its optical properties. While achieving a clear field of view with minimal distortion, the shield’s quadratic curved shape accentuates its sharp form, enhancing the design of the WYVERN Ø. The shield lock uses a center lock system, which reduces deflection when opening and closing the shield, improving operability. It also improves the adhesion between the shield and the window beading (window rubber). The shield adjustment lever, which also prevents fogging, allows you to adjust the adhesion. Furthermore, the rear of the shield is equipped with a pin for attaching an anti-fog sheet and a “vortex generator” that reduces driving noise.
The interior, which combines a soft fit with comfort while riding, uses a hybrid of highly moisture-absorbing and quick-drying fabric in areas where sweat tends to accumulate, and soft, raised fabric in areas that rub against the skin when putting on and taking off the helmet. The newly designed cheek pads have a voluminous bottom edge, and their soft conformability around the neck creates a comfortable fit and prevents noise from entering.
