Bike Future Research Institute, run by Bike King & Company, compiled the number of used motorcycles of 126cc or more sold at Bike King stores nationwide from January 1 to December 31, 2024, and announced the top 20 rankings. According to the survey, Honda’s Rebel 250 took first place, followed by the Rebel 250 S Edition in second place. In third place was the CB400 Super Four (NC42), with Honda models dominating the top spots.

The Rebel 250 has been a highly popular 250cc cruiser model since its release in 2017. Characterized by its easy-to-reach stance, stable riding performance, and trendy coloring, it has gained support from a wide range of riders, from veterans to beginners and female riders. It is also popular on the second-hand market, with a large number of models available in a wide range of years and colors, making it easy to find one that suits your needs.
The popularity of the 400cc class also increases

Coming in third place is the CB400 Super Four (NC42), which has long been a beloved naked bike representing the 400cc class. Equipped with a water-cooled four-cylinder engine, it is a model familiar to many riders as a training vehicle. Although production of this bike ended in 2022, it remains highly popular in the used market, where its refinement and durability are highly valued. One of its appealing features is the large number of models in circulation, and the abundance of used and custom parts available.
Coming in fifth place is Kawasaki’s Ninja 400 (EX400G). This model is a 400cc sports model that boasts a lightweight body similar to the Ninja 250 of the same year, and is equipped with a high-power engine. Characterized by its nimble handling and powerful acceleration, it has gained popularity among many riders.
Also coming in at 11th place is Yamaha’s SR400 (RH16J). Since its debut in 1978, the SR400 has been a long-selling model with many fans thanks to its simple design and ease of use. Although production of the SR400 was announced to end in 2021, it remains popular in the used market due to its classic style and ease of maintenance.
Furthermore, Harley-Davidson’s XL1200X and XL883N ranked 12th and 19th respectively, demonstrating their popularity among imported motorcycles. The XL1200X in particular is the object of desire for many riders with its unique style and powerful riding performance.
Mr. Miyagi Hikaru, Director of Bike Future Research Institute, commented on this ranking, “Many light motorcycles are ranked high, and I felt that this was a realistic ranking. In particular, the Rebel 250 taking first and second place is a convincing result, considering how many you see around town.” He also said, “In the used motorcycle market, you can choose a bike that suits you at a motorcycle shop that has a wide variety of manufacturers, models, and colors.”
This ranking was created based on sales data from Bike King’s stores nationwide, and reflects the current state of the used motorcycle market. It will be useful information for riders who are considering purchasing a motorcycle.
