The Fun Concept EV, a mid-class electric sports model, will be unveiled for the first time in Japan.
At the 52nd Tokyo Motorcycle Show, which was held from March 28th to 30th, Honda Motorcycle Japan’s booth displayed a number of noteworthy models, including the CB1000F Concept and Super Cub 110 Lite Concept, which were already announced at the Osaka Motorcycle Show, and was bustling with visitors.

Honda Motorcycle President and CEO Murooka spoke about Honda’s advanced technology, carbon neutrality, and products.
At a press conference on March 28, Honda Motorcycle Japan President Katsuhiro Murooka introduced the company’s motorcycle business, a focus of its business since its founding. He introduced the new V3 engine with an electric supercharger, a Honda-E clutch model, and the “EV Fun Concept,” a new sports EV concept model that represents Honda’s carbon-neutral EV initiative, unveiled at last year’s Milan Show. This model debuted at EICMA (commonly known as the Milan Show) held in Milan, Italy, last November, and this marks its first appearance in Japan at the 52nd Tokyo Motorcycle Show. Honda aims to “achieve carbon neutrality through all Honda products and corporate activities” by 2050, with a goal of achieving carbon neutrality for all motorcycle products by the 2040s. The company already sells the EM1:e scooter, which is equivalent to a Class 1 moped, in Japan, and has announced plans to launch the CUV:e, a Class 2 moped, in June 2025.

The rear of the EV Fun Concept is fitted with a single-sided swingarm Pro Arm, allowing for a truly Honda-like ride.

The headlight has two rows of small LEDs. The daytime running lights look like something from a futuristic bike.

The handlebars are wide and low, and the meter area is surprisingly simple.

It supports the same fast charging as four-wheeled vehicles, so there is no problem charging it on the go.
The EV Fun Concept is Honda’s first electric sports motorcycle. President Murooka said, “While continuing to work on the evolution of ICE vehicles, Honda is currently accelerating the electrification of motorcycles as a core part of our environmental strategy. The EV Fun Concept, which will be unveiled in Japan for the first time, is Honda’s first electric sports model, with performance comparable to that of mid-class engines. In addition to the handling performance that Honda has cultivated over many years, this concept model pursues the quiet driving sensation unique to electric vehicles and a new world of driving that is completely different from gasoline-engine vehicles. Even in the field of electric vehicles, we will embody mobility born from new originality and a spirit of challenge.”
The know-how and technology cultivated by Honda automobiles and power products has been applied to develop the EV Fun Concept’s system and charging functions. The battery is compatible with the CCS2 rapid charger, the same standard as automobiles, and is also capable of rapid charging. It has been developed with a target range of over 100km. In addition to the EM1:e, which is currently on sale, the CUV:e, scheduled for release on June 20th, was also on display at the venue.

The C50, released in 1966, was the motif for the final model.

The 50 Final Edition was made to order and sold in November last year.

There is also a CB1000F concept model created in collaboration with BEAMS and designed by graphic designer GUCCIMAZE.
The press conference also touched on the evolution of Honda’s product brand, mentioning the discontinuation of production of the 50cc model of the Super Cub commuter series, which is Honda’s identity. The company also introduced the Super Cub 110 Lite Concept, a new concept model that will take over the 50cc moped category. The company also introduced the final model of the CB1300 SUPER Four series, which has been loved since its launch in 1992, and the CB1000F Concept, a new model for the CB brand. This year’s Honda booth was packed with content, meeting the expectations of fans.
