A circuit run at HSR Kyushu has become a regular event at the Cafe Cub Party in Kyushu.
The Cafe Cub Party was first held in 1997 under the theme of “Let’s talk about Honda’s two-wheel culture over the Super Cub.” The event was held at the Honda Welcome Plaza in Aoyama, Minato Ward, Tokyo, and brought together customized Super Cubs that owners were proud of. At the time, there was still a strong view that modifications were bad, so from the start, the organizers themselves advocated customizations that were perceived as “stylish and cute.” A popularity contest was held at the event, which included general attendees, and the event has greatly promoted the appeal of the Cub.

Cafe Cub Party in Hokkaido is held in an excellent location on the shores of Lake Toya.
The Cafe Cub Party was later renamed the “Cafe Cub Meeting” when Honda took over as host. It was held every year until 2024, with many custom Cubs participating each time. The current popularity of Super Cub-type machines has grown to the point that it would be impossible to discuss it without mentioning this event. Each year, the venue expands nationwide, expanding beyond Welcome Plaza to include Kansai, Kumamoto, and Hokkaido. This is because the Cafe Cub requires participants to drive their own bikes, and the number of Cub enthusiasts who can attend is limited depending on the venue, as mopeds cannot be driven on highways.

There’s good news for all you enthusiasts who are hoping to take part in Cafe Cub in 2025, as the organizers have just announced this year’s event schedule. In previous years, the event would take place in Kansai in June, Hokkaido in July, Aoyama in September, and Kyushu in October, but things have changed dramatically for 2025. This is because the Cafe Cub Party in Kyushu has been moved to June due to the schedule of HSR Kyushu, which will be held in Kyushu. As a result, the Kansai location will be moved to early autumn. What’s more, the Kansai location will no longer be the shores of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, as it has been for a long time, but will instead be Rokko Island in Hyogo Prefecture. For more details, please see the table above.

The final Cafe Cub Meeting in Aoyama was in 2024, and it is hoped that a similar event will be held in 2025.
The 16th Cafe Cub Party in Kyushu is scheduled to be held on June 29th (rain or shine), but only the date has been decided and registration has not yet begun. Registration is required in advance, with the cost 3,000 yen per person for those 16 years of age and older, 2,000 yen per person for those 15 and under, and free for children under 4 years old. Participants will receive a free drink and a commemorative T-shirt (no special perks for children under 4 years old). As mentioned above, only Cub users can participate, and illegally modified vehicles and red Postal Cubs are not allowed.

Cafe Cub regularly hosts a talk show called the Bike Forum, where people discuss motorcycle culture.
Applications to participate should be available on the Cafe Cub Management Office’s official website , so be sure to check it out. Also, with Cafe Cub Aoyama’s final event coming in 2024, the management office is currently searching for a new venue. If a new location is chosen, it will be announced on the official website, so look forward to that too.
