Indian Motorcycle has announced a major expansion of its team structure in preparation for the 2025 MotoAmerica King of the Baggers.
The S&S Indian Cycle Factory Team will compete in the new season with 2024 champion Troy Herfoss, two-time champion Tyler O’Hara, and French MotoGP veteran Loris Baz. The addition of Baz, who has experience in the world’s top road races, will instantly boost the team’s strength.
The Indian Wrecking Crew racing team has been a part of American motorcycle history for many years, from the 1950s to the present day. From 2017 to 2024, they achieved outstanding results in the Flat Track division under the leadership of Jared Mees.
All riders will race on Indian Challengers equipped with overhead cam, liquid-cooled PowerPlus engines. This machine has already won three championships, dominating its larger-displacement rivals in terms of performance. The 60-degree V-twin engine and the latest four-valve per cylinder design combine high power output with ease of handling.
“The Wrecking Crew is a cornerstone of our company and represents the racing DNA that has been with us since 1901,” said Gary Gray, Indian Motorcycle vice president of Product Engineering, Racing and Service. “Loris has shown great adaptability in early testing, and with this new three-rider lineup, we have the potential to win every race.”
Additionally, Cameron Peterson and Kyle Ornsorg have also been confirmed to compete as privateer teams. Indian is providing a 2025 Challenger Dark Horse and more than $80,000 in support, providing full support for the privateer teams.

TROY HERFOSS…No.1
Troy Herfoss returns to defend his bagger title. The three-time Australian Superbike champion finished on the podium in all but three races in 2024, a class-leading seven wins, seven second-place finishes and one third-place finish in his first year aboard the S&S Indian Challenger.
TYLER O’HARA…No. 29
Competing in his sixth season aboard the No. 29 S&S Indian Challenger is Tyler O’Hara. A
two-time KOTB champion, O’Hara won the inaugural race in the class in 2020 and will be back in 2022. O’Hara’s bold approach and extensive bagger racing experience will make him a formidable competitor in this year’s KOTB field.
LORIS BAZ…No.76
Rounding out the Indian Wrecking Crew is French road racer Loris Baz,
whose dynamic riding style and proven pedigree will make him a formidable presence on the track.
The French racer has competed in MotoGP, World Superbike and, more recently, MotoAmerica Superbike classes, and has earned a reputation for his adaptability and versatile skills. Baz has enjoyed success in a variety of racing disciplines, including the European Superstock 1000 Championship, where he won the title in 2008. His international background and track record of success will make a strong impact at KOTB.
“I’ve followed the King of the Baggers series since it began and it’s truly an honor to be a part of the legendary Indian Motorcycle wrecking crew,” said Buzz. “I’ve seen what Troy and Tyler have accomplished in Superbike racing aboard the S&S Indian Challenger and I’m thrilled to be part of this championship team as we pursue our next title together in 2025. ”
