Shiga Prefecture’s first Bike Day event is back again this year! Raising awareness of traffic safety by riding around Lake Biwa
The 3rd Bike Day in Shiga is an event aimed at promoting the attractions of Shiga and raising awareness of traffic safety among the growing number of motorcycle enthusiasts in recent years. Six stopover points will be set up along the parade course that circles Lake Biwa, and traffic safety awareness activities will be carried out at each point by distributing stickers and other materials.
The biggest feature of this event is its highly flexible participation system, which allows participants to join and leave at any time. If you spot the parade team wearing the original green T-shirts, you can easily join them at any point. This system allows you to enjoy the parade freely, whether you are just moving between traffic safety awareness points or joining in the middle of the parade.
Last year, approximately 1,600 people participated, and this year the target number of participants is set at 1,800. It has grown into a major summer event that attracts many riders from inside and outside Shiga Prefecture.
