Yamaha Motor has announced the 2025 model of its sports scooter “XMAX ABS,” which will be released on April 14, 2025. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is 737,000 yen (including 10% consumption tax). “The new model combines comfort with advanced features, such as a lightweight muffler, an electric windscreen, and a newly designed meter.
Lighter weight and more comfortable
The 2025 model “XMAX ABS” has a revised internal structure of the muffler, making it 800g lighter than the 2023 model. In addition, a new electric windscreen with a stepless adjustment range of 100mm has been adopted, improving wind protection.
Advanced Metering and Connectivity
The newly designed all-in-one meter has a 4.2-inch TFT panel on the right and a 3.2-inch LCD panel on the left. By connecting to a smartphone with the dedicated app “Y-Connect” installed, information such as calls and notifications can be displayed on the display. In addition, by connecting to the navigation app “Garmin StreetCross”, navigation functions can also be used.
A power unit that delivers an exhilarating ride
The “XMAX ABS” is equipped with a water-cooled, 249cc “BLUE CORE” engine, which achieves efficient combustion, high cooling performance, and reduced loss. This engine was developed to achieve both driving pleasure and fuel economy/environmental friendliness. It also comes equipped with a full range of safety-enhancing features, including a Traction Control System (TCS) and an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS).
In terms of styling, the design of the front face and side covers has been renewed while inheriting the image of the “MAX series.” Three colors are available: “Black Metallic 12 (Black),” “Matte Dark Gray Metallic 8 (Matte Dark Gray),” and “Bluish Gray Cocktail 2 (Gray).”
The XMAX ABS has evolved further as a sports scooter that offers comfortable riding in a wide range of situations, from commuting in urban areas to touring in the suburbs.
