A new naked bike that combines sophisticated style and technology

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) will unveil the next-generation sports naked CB125 Hornet in India in July 2025. Its striking twin LED headlights, LED DRLs and turn indicators, sharp tank silhouette, and bold rear section give it a visually distinct look from conventional commuter bikes. The gold-finished USD (Upside-Down) inverted forks are a first in this class, combining performance and beauty.
Its equipment is also noteworthy, with a 4.2-inch TFT display that comes standard with Bluetooth connectivity (compatible with Honda RoadSync), turn-by-turn navigation, and a USB Type-C port. It offers a comprehensive interface that intuitively and smartly supports urban riding.
A mechanism that supports lightweight and agile performance

The CB125 Hornet is equipped with a 123.94cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, which is also used in the Honda SP125 and Shine 125. Performance has been tuned to produce a maximum output of approximately 11.1hp and a maximum torque of 11.2Nm, and it boasts one of the fastest acceleration times in its class, accelerating from 0 to 60km/h in 5.4 seconds. Focus has also been placed on weight reduction, with a weight of 124kg, which is lighter than rivals, contributing to improved handling and acceleration performance.
The suspension is equipped with the aforementioned USD forks and a mono shock with five-stage rear preload adjustment, while wide 17-inch wheels and thick tires ensure stable riding. The front brake is a 240mm petal disc with single-channel ABS, and the rear wheel is a 130mm drum type.
Strengths and strategies seen through comparison with competitors

While the Indian 125cc sports bike market is filled with strong competitors such as the Hero Xtreme 125R, TVS Raider 125, and Bajaj Pulsar N125, the CB125 Hornet differentiates itself by being “the lightest in the class + highly equipped.” In particular, high-end equipment such as USD forks, a TFT display, and Bluetooth/navigation connectivity provide a premium feel that surpasses rival models.
In terms of performance, the Pulsar N125 is the most powerful with a maximum output of 12hp, but the Hornet has an excellent power-to-weight ratio of 89.5hp/tonne. In addition, considering its fuel economy, easy handling, and Honda’s quality and reliability, it can be said to be a well-balanced bike that is well-suited to urban riding.
What is the appeal of the Honda CB125 Hornet?

There are four color variations: Pearl Siren Blue + Lemon Ice Yellow, Pearl Siren Blue + Athletic Blue Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, and Pearl Siren Blue + Sports Red. The vibrant and energetic color schemes are designed with the younger generation in mind.
The CB125 Hornet, which Honda introduced to the 125cc sports naked market, is a model that combines innovative equipment with a lightweight and agile engine. It is equipped with high-end equipment such as USD forks, a Bluetooth-enabled TFT navigation system, and LED lighting, yet is priced at the same level as its rivals, and combines “ease of use,” “fun,” and “brand reliability” into one.
The CB125 Hornet is an attractive choice for a wide range of riders, from daily commuting to weekend urban touring, and will further enhance Honda’s presence in the 125cc market.
