Arenas has been confirmed to participate! Suzuki strengthens its team with last year’s third-place finish

Suzuki has announced that Alberto Arenas will be the third rider for Team Suzuki CN Challenge at the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race in 2025. Arenas is a current Moto2 rider who was the 2020 Moto3 World Champion, and contributed to the team’s podium finish at last year’s Suzuka 8 Hours as a Yoshimura SERT MOTUL rider.

With this appointment, Team Suzuki CN Challenge now has a three-man team, including Etienne Masson and Takuya Tsuda, and is now in a strong position to aim for even better results than last year.

Profile of Arenas, a player with extensive World Championship experience

Alberto Arenas is from Spain and is a talented rider who was crowned Moto3 World Champion in 2020. He has been competing in the Moto2 class since 2021, and has the experience and skills he has cultivated on the world’s highest stage.

He has an excellent track record at the Suzuka 8 Hours, taking third place on the podium in the 2024 race. This demonstrates his strategic thinking and stable driving skills, both unique to endurance racing. This year, he will be competing on a new Suzuki machine, and we can expect him to make even greater strides.

2025 Team Suzuki CN Challenge Strength Analysis

The three riders who have now been completed are each made up of riders with different strengths: Etienne Masson has a wealth of experience in endurance racing, while Takuya Tsuda is expected to take advantage of the home track advantage at Suzuka Circuit.

Add to this Arenas’s world championship-level speed and his third-place finish in last year’s Suzuka 8 Hours, and the team is well-positioned for overall strength. The team aims to achieve better results than last year with a strategy that makes the most of the unique strengths of each of the three riders.

The fighting power of the participating vehicle, the GSX-R1000R

The GSX-R1000R ridden by Team Suzuki CN Challenge is Suzuki’s flagship supersport bike. Its 999cc inline 4-cylinder engine produces a maximum output of 199ps, providing stable performance even in the high-speed corners of the Suzuka Circuit.

The vehicle, which has been set up for endurance racing, combines the reliability to handle the long, grueling eight-hour race with the high speed required. The combination of Arenas’ skills and the machine’s performance is expected to raise expectations for a top finish.
