An aggressively designed street fighter that lets you enjoy the power of a DOHC 4-cylinder engine.
On October 20th, the new GSX-S1000 model, equipped with an in-line four-cylinder engine, was unveiled to the world for the first time at the GSX-S/R Meeting held at the Suzuki Hamamatsu Factory in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
The DOHC parallel four-cylinder engine inherited from the GSX-R1000 is powerful and smooth with 150 horsepower.
The pure sports GSX-S1000, which inherits the DNA of the super sports bike, has undergone a minor change and went on sale on October 25th. This minor change adds a new color, “Matte Sword Silver Metallic,” which is a matte silver base with blue accents. The subdued matte silver base is complemented by the Suzuki sports blue color on the shrouds and wheels, which matches the aggressive design. The image colors, “Triton Blue Metallic” and the chic “Glass Sparkle Black,” have also been retained.
A new color, Matte Sword Silver Metallic, based on matte silver, has been added.

The chic and manly “Glass Sparkle Black” will also continue to be included in the lineup.
Aside from the color, another major change is that the meter has been upgraded from the previous inverted LCD to a color TFT LCD. The newly adopted 6.5-inch full-color TFT LCD multi-information display was developed specifically for motorcycles and is scratch-resistant and has an anti-reflective coating that improves visibility even in bright light. Not only does it display driving conditions such as speed and RPM, settings, and systems, but it is also compatible with “SUZUKI mySPIN,” a motorcycle-specific app introduced for the first time by Suzuki Motorcycles, and can be linked to a smartphone with the app installed to display maps, play music, and even make phone calls. “SUZUKI mySPIN” is compatible with both iOS and Android.
The color TFT LCD display is easy to read even during the day, and can also be linked to a smartphone to display navigation.
The LCD display uses blue, Suzuki’s on-road sports image color, as a highlight. The display can be switched automatically or manually between a white-based day mode and a black-based night mode. LED indicators are laid out on both sides of the display. When the ignition is turned on, a graphic animation that matches the image of the GSX-S1000 is displayed.
The price is 1,507,000 yen and sales will begin in Japan on October 25th.
