Suzuki Birdy and 2-stroke Jimny (LJ20/1974 model) collaborate to transcend the boundaries between two and four wheels! NATS [Tokyo Auto Salon 2025]

Nippon Automobile College (NATS) is a private automotive-related vocational school located in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture. A regular at the Tokyo Auto Salon, the school won the Excellence Award in the Complete Car category in 1997 and has since won various awards in the show’s competitions.

The photo shows a custom trailer called “NATS SAMURAI” that was exhibited at Tokyo Auto Salon 2025. Based on the concept of “Diversity (diversity, change, difference),” it features the Jimny, which is experiencing a resurgence in popularity due to the recent outdoor and camping boom.

This flashy trailer is based on a retro 1974 Suzuki Jimny (LJ20) equipped with a two-stroke engine. It features custom candy gold paint, hydraulic suspension, wire wheels, a conti kit, and custom paint on the trailer, body, and interior, expressing diversity (variety, change, and difference). It creates a cool and unique world.

The towing rack attached to the rear carries a nostalgic “Super Cub-style” modified Suzuki Birdy, embodying the collaboration between a vintage Suzuki car and motorcycle.

The Birdy is painted in the same candy gold as the Jimny and features large twisted handlebars, a bold rear sissy bar, small rectangular headlights arranged in two tiers, a white double seat, plated engine covers and swingarms, as well as springer front forks and a jockey shift, giving it a retro American lowrider feel.

The vehicle, which attempted a customization that transcended the boundaries of Jimny and lowrider, attracted a lot of attention at the venue.
