The new Tuareg 660 has evolved following its victory in the Africa Eco Race

Aprilia has generously applied the experience that supported its two consecutive victories in the Africa Eco Race to the new “New Tuareg 660,” which will begin accepting orders from authorized dealers nationwide from August 30, 2025 (shipments will begin sequentially from September). The foundation of this bike is the competition model, forged in the tough competition scene, and it clearly takes on the challenge of being a mid-class adventure bike, inheriting its high-rigidity frame and powerful 660cc twin engine. It offers unparalleled performance, combining smooth riding performance on-road with outstanding off-road capability.
Compliance with exhaust gas regulations and improved power performance

To comply with the EURO 5+ regulations, the 2025 model has an increased throttle body diameter from 48mm to 52mm, improving intake efficiency. Furthermore, a newly developed generator reduces inertia, sharpening acceleration performance. As a result, the engine delivers a more linear and responsive feel while achieving figures of 80HP/9250rpm and 70Nm/6500rpm.
Achieving both design innovation and off-road performance

While retaining the iconic horizontal triple headlamp design, the lower lip and protrusions around the headlamp have been trimmed away to create a smoother design. The front view gives a dynamic and streamlined impression, and the Hailstorm White coloring, contrasted with the red frame, accentuates the aggressiveness.
The riding equipment has also been thoroughly designed with outdoor riding capabilities in mind, with a KYB inverted fork (fully adjustable φ43mm, travel 240mm) and a progressive link and mono shock at the rear to ensure the same travel. The brakes are also Brembo discs at the front and rear, and the wheels are aluminum rim spokes with tubeless tires, achieving both lightness and durability. Dry weight is 187kg, with the entire vehicle weighing 204kg. With a fuel tank capacity of 18 liters, it boasts sufficient specifications for long-distance touring.
Further customization with equipment and accessories

Standard equipment includes LED headlamps with DRL, LED turn signals, a 5-inch TFT color meter, handguards, and an aluminum skid plate, and in terms of electronic control, the APRC™ system is fully equipped with engine map, engine brake, dual-channel ABS (with rear lift control), traction control, 4 riding modes, and cruise control (ACC).
Options include parts exclusive to the Tuareg Rally (not available in Japan). A rich range of accessories are also available, including heavy-duty spoke wheels, large skid plates, three-stage adjustable heated comfort seats, smartphone-linked Aprilia Mia multimedia operation, and even a touring screen, aluminum side pannier cases, LED fog lights, and protection bars. The ability to select configurations in detail according to the user’s usage and purpose allows for a wide range of customization, from touring to full-scale off-road riding.
Overall, the New Tuareg 660 has been trained in competitions and has evolved into a mid-sized adventure bike that is well-balanced in terms of engine, suspension, electronic control, design and equipment, while complying with the latest exhaust gas regulations. Its combination of high off-road capability and on-road performance, plus its expandability that allows it to be customized with a wide range of options, will surely bring new appeal to adventure-minded riders.
