Replacing grips is a classic and easy way to dress up your bike. Since they’re constantly in contact with your bike while riding, replacing them with grips that have a texture and design you like will provide a high level of satisfaction, and many affordable grips offer excellent value for money. Replacing grips essentially involves removing the old grips and reinstalling them in the same way. A professional can easily remove and reinstall them using a compressor by blowing compressed air between the grips and the handlebars. Depending on the model and grips, the process can take just a few minutes. However, this is only possible with professional work and tools. While it may seem simple for an amateur, it can be quite difficult. Since the old grips aren’t reused, cutting and removing them is easy, but installing new grips can be challenging. Grips made of particularly hard materials don’t slide easily into the handlebar pipes. Applying water to the inside of the grips makes them slippery, and they can even twist. Many people apply diluted detergent to the inside of the grips, but there are also reports of the grips moving around after not drying properly, or even moving around on rainy days after being fixed.

The old grip can be easily removed by cutting it off with a cutter or similar tool.

Attach the special double-sided tape to the throttle pipe (huddle pipe).

Apply the special liquid on top of the tape. Spread it thinly using the included finger cot.

Once you insert the new grip, it will install smoothly. You can adjust it freely until the liquid dries (about 2 minutes).

If the grip is loose, you can fine-tune it by applying additional double-sided tape.
