Main features of Suzuki BURGMAN400 ABS
A 400cc scooter lineage dating back to 1998
The Burgman 400ABS is a new model that was released in 2017 with a completely new design as the successor to the Skywave 400, which was released in 1998 as Japan’s first 400cc scooter. The name has also been unified under the name Burgman, Suzuki’s global brand for large scooters, and while maintaining its sophisticated styling and comfort, it has evolved to have a slimmer and sportier impression.
Elegant coupe style
The body, designed based on the concept of the “Bergman Coupe,” features beautiful styling reminiscent of a sporty coupe. The slim body design, which evokes the image of agile driving, gives the impression of lightness that is hard to believe for a 400cc scooter.
It is also equipped with the same LED twin headlights as the Burgman series, as well as sharp LED rear combination lamps that create an elegant and light look. The upward-facing muffler design that enhances the elegant form is also impressive.
Combining comfort and practicality
The seat is equipped with a thick cushion and an adjustable backrest for optimal riding position. In terms of storage, there is a 42L under-seat trunk space that can hold a helmet and other items, as well as front boxes on both sides under the handlebars. There is also a 12V DC socket on the right side.
Advanced technology and driving performance
Dual Spark Technology Engine
The 399cc DOHC engine uses Suzuki’s unique Dual Spark Technology. This system, with two spark plugs per cylinder, achieves high combustion efficiency, contributing to smooth power output, excellent combustion performance, and reduced exhaust emissions.
In the 2021 minor change, the injectors were changed to a high-atomization type, further improving combustion efficiency. While complying with the 2020 domestic exhaust gas regulations, the car maintains a luxurious feel.
Traction control equipment
The newly equipped traction control system quickly reduces engine output when it detects rear wheel spin, efficiently transferring engine power to the road for a more comfortable and safer ride.
Excellent maneuverability and stability
The adoption of a link-type monoshock rear suspension achieves a high level of both comfort and sporty performance, while the 15-inch front wheel provides excellent handling stability.
The slim seat and cut floorboards that narrow the areas around the feet on both sides also ensure good foot reach.
Fully equipped and safe
security system
Suzuki’s unique immobilizer system, “SAIS” (SUZUKI ADVANCED IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM), is standard equipment. The transponder-type immobilizer and shutter-equipped cylinder are highly effective in preventing vandalism and theft.
Useful features
The Suzuki Easy Start System allows the engine to start with just one push of the starter switch. There is no need to keep pressing the switch, making it easy to start the engine.
The seat and handlebar positions are optimized to provide a comfortable and sporty riding position.
