The Harley-Davidson XR750 is a flat track racer that was announced in 1970 as a machine to compete in the GNC (AMA Grand National Championship), organized by the AMA, the American racing governing body.

Flat track racing has become so popular across the nation that it’s said that even the smallest towns in the United States have their own flat track courses. American riders Kenny Roberts, Freddie Spencer, and Eddie Lawson, who went on to compete in the World GP (now MotoGP), the pinnacle of road racing, all came from this type of racing.

The machine below is Harley-Davidson’s first 350cc medium-sized license model, the X350, which has been given the look of the XR750, which was unbeatable in flat track racing. It has been customized with a number of noteworthy items, including Moriwaki’s first muffler for a Harley-Davidson and a special short fender kit.

Moriwaki’s first ever muffler for Harley-Davidson has finally debuted !

This is Moriwaki’s first muffler for Harley-Davidson. It has been changed from the standard short style under the belly to a twin silencer with slash cut ends on the right side. It gives a sense of volume to the rear area, making a higher-grade impact on the viewer.

The exhaust sound emitted from the twin silencers is bold and clear, stimulating the rider’s senses at all times, whether idling or riding. You can enjoy a powerful sound that is hard to believe is from a mid-class bike.

Even though it is a slip-on muffler, its performance exceeds that of a standard muffler across the entire range, and you can feel the difference as soon as you get on. The torque that surges from the low speed range and the smooth acceleration all the way to the peak will bring out even more fun in the X350.

[Planning and Design]

Considering the balance of the vehicle body and the positional relationship (ensuring clearance) when fully bottomed out, we decided to adopt a short fender style rather than completely eliminating the fender. Different thicknesses are used for each part to balance rigidity and weight reduction. By arranging truss-shaped and slit-shaped cutouts to match the vehicle design, we have achieved weight reduction while maintaining strength. This gives the rear view a sharper, tighter look. It is a completely bolt-on, coupler-on design and can be installed without any wiring modifications.

[Material]

Made from lightweight aluminum alloy. Black anodized finish improves corrosion resistance. Laser processing and precision sheet metal processing combine multiple pieces to create a three-dimensional shape. The slim short fender maintains the sharp, sporty image of the X350. 

[Equipment]

The kit comes standard with a dedicated LED license plate light and reflector. *No separate purchase necessary. Compatible with genuine turn signals. The turn signal mounting position is designed to meet safety standards (visibility) and silhouette considerations.

[Regulations]

1. This product complies with the new safety standards that will come into effect on October 1, 2021 (number plate angle must be no more than 40° upward). Modifying this product to change the installation angle may violate safety standards.

2. Installing this product will change the vehicle’s “length” listed on the vehicle inspection certificate by 3 cm or more. If the vehicle’s “length” changes by 3 cm or more, strictly speaking, a structural change notification is required under the law. Depending on the vehicle inspection center, you may be instructed to submit a notification. In such cases, please follow the inspector’s instructions.

Radiator Core Guard

[Role of the radiator core guard]

The radiator cools the engine. Its core, which can be said to be the heart of the radiator, is made up of very thin fins. This means that it can be deformed if hit by pebbles kicked up by the car in front or pebbles kicked up by your own car’s front wheels while driving. These “bouncing stones” not only deform the fins, but can also get stuck between the fins, reducing the cooling effect, damaging the water line, and potentially causing coolant leaks. The core guard is a part designed to protect the core from such possibilities.

【design】

It uses a mesh design made up of the cross-sectional shape of cherry pipes. The core design is reminiscent of the framework that has driven Moriwaki’s originality, with a cherry pipe cross-sectional shape, achieving a uniquely simple and elegant design. The mesh pattern on the core surface is finer in the center, which is more susceptible to damage from flying stones, and coarser on both sides, which have better cooling efficiency.

[Material]

To maximize the radiator’s performance, we wanted to maximize the opening ratio. To achieve this, the inherent strength of the material was also necessary. Because it stands at the front of the vehicle and is exposed to harsh conditions, durability and corrosion resistance are essential. To meet these requirements, stainless steel (SUS304) was used as the material.
