Stefan Pierer (CEO, KTM AG):
“Over the past 30 years, we have grown into the largest motorcycle manufacturer in Europe. Our products inspire millions of riders around the world. And now we are making a pit stop for the future. The KTM brand is my life’s work and I will fight for it.”
KTM has grown from 160 employees and a production capacity of 6,000 motorcycles in 1992 to a production capacity of up to 1,000 motorcycles per day, but is now facing major hurdles. To address these challenges, KTM will begin a legal restructuring procedure through voluntary administration. The application will be submitted on Friday, November 29th, with the aim of completing the procedure within 90 days.
Gottfried Neumeister will join the Management Board as Co-CEO from September 2024.
