The new three-cylinder roadster combines technology and design to become a car that can race through the city

Triumph Motorcycles Japan unveiled the highly anticipated new naked roadster, the Trident 800, for the first time in the world on October 28, 2025. Pursuing the passion of urban riding and a driving experience that will transform your everyday life, the newly designed 798cc, three-cylinder engine delivers instant throttle response, powerful mid-range torque, and spine-tingling power at high RPMs. The lightweight chassis incorporates adjustable Showa suspension, delivering both intuitive handling and agile maneuverability. The body weighs just 198 kg with full fuel and is fitted with Michelin tires with excellent grip. It’s designed to embody the joy of riding in any situation, from city streets to highways.
In terms of technology, the bike is equipped with three riding modes (Road/Sport/Rain), and comes standard with Lean-Sensitive Optimised Cornering ABS, which is controlled according to lean angle, traction control, Triumph Shift Assist, which allows clutchless up/downshifts, and cruise control. The Bluetooth-connected My Triumph infotainment system is integrated with a 3.5-inch round colour TFT display, and calls, music and navigation can be controlled using the left switch cube. Equipped with a round LED headlight, integrated taillight and self-turning turn signals, it combines ease of everyday use with advanced technology.
The exterior is also thoroughly sculpted and beautiful. The sculpted tank, sleek tail, wide handlebars, and compact frame create muscular proportions. Accents include premium brushed aluminum and gold wheels, and the bike is available in three colors: Ash Gray, Carnival Red, and Jet Black. Furthermore, an Akrapovic silencer with titanium wrap and carbon end cap is available as a special accessory, expanding the scope of customization.
The engine produces 115 PS at 10,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 84 Nm at 8,500 rpm. It features a twist-forged crankshaft, forged connecting rods, and high-compression pistons, achieving both performance and durability. It also features an 810 mm seat height, 41 mm upside-down Showa forks at the front, and separate damping, compression, and rebound adjustments. The rear is equipped with a Showa monoshock with preload and rebound adjustments. Brakes are equipped with 310 mm discs and four-piston radial calipers with braided steel lines, ensuring reliable braking performance.
The announced price is 1,249,000 yen for the Jet Black model, and 1,269,000 yen for the Ash Gray and Carnival Red models (both including tax). Pre-orders are currently being accepted, with in-store deliveries scheduled for the end of February 2026. Other selling points include a two-year unlimited mileage warranty and inspection intervals of approximately 16,000 km, reducing the stress of owners and allowing them to focus on driving.
The Trident 800 sets a new standard in Triumph’s “street roadster” range. Building on the success of the highly acclaimed Trident 660 and Street Triple 765 RS, it is positioned as a bike with even more evolved on-road performance and character. Product Director Steve Sargent explains the aim: “We’ve created a bike that delivers the fun and character that riders want in their everyday riding, but with a more road-focused approach.”
A new option for sharpening your riding style and racing through urban landscapes. As a mid-weight naked roadster, the Trident 800 is both exciting and highly practical. From city riding to winding roads, it will surely meet riders’ expectations as a bike that adds “fun” to their daily lives.
