“Becoming the Wind” – Honda WN7 Development Concept
The Honda WN7 is an electric motorcycle for the fun sector that embodies the new electric motorcycle brand policy announced at the same time. The development concept is “Be the Wind.”
The car boasts the quiet ride characteristic of an electric vehicle, allowing drivers to enjoy torqueful, smooth acceleration and nimble handling while feeling the sounds of people and the wind in the streets. This model was developed with the theme of “driving freely like the wind.”

Design showing the new identity of electric motorcycles
The body, designed with the theme of “refining functionality and expressing essence,” combines seamless, smooth surfaces with a powerful and original silhouette.
The front features a horizontal signature light, which will become a common icon for Honda’s future electric motorcycle series.
The body color is based on black with gold accents. This new color scheme is designed specifically for electric motorcycles and is scheduled to be rolled out globally in the future.
Frameless chassis structure achieves both light weight and flexibility
The WN7 does away with the conventional frame structure and adopts a “frameless chassis structure” in which the aluminum battery case is part of the body frame.
By directly fastening the head pipe and pivot bracket to the power unit, high rigidity and light weight are achieved. By
placing the battery in the center of the body, mass is centralized, resulting in light handling that is hard to believe is an electric vehicle.

Newly developed inverter-integrated motor unit
At the heart of the bike is a newly developed water-cooled inverter-integrated motor. It delivers a maximum output of 68ps (50kW) and a maximum torque of 100Nm, boasting acceleration performance comparable to that of a 600cc class internal combustion engine vehicle.
The power is transmitted to a belt drive via a newly designed gearbox, ensuring excellent quietness. This allows for a comfortable ride in any situation, from city riding to touring.
9.3kWh battery and fast charging support
The drive battery is a newly developed 9.3kWh fixed lithium-ion battery.
Compatible with the CCS2 rapid charging standard, it can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Normal charging (Type 2) takes approximately 2.4 hours to go from 0% to 100%.
With a range of approximately 140km (WMTC mode) on a full charge, it is practical enough for everything from daily commuting to short weekend trips.
Regenerative braking and deceleration selector for flexible driving feel
The car employs a “regenerative brake” that regenerates power using the motor while decelerating when the throttle is released while driving.
Furthermore, it is equipped with a “deceleration selector” that allows you to select the deceleration rate using the switch on the left side of the handlebars, allowing you to freely control deceleration using only the throttle. It also
comes equipped with a “walking speed mode” that allows you to move forward and backward at a slow speed, making it easier to handle and park.
Produced at the Kumamoto Factory and deployed to the global market
The WN7 will be produced at Honda’s Kumamoto Factory, the mother factory for motorcycle production, and will be supplied to global markets in the future.
It will be a model that sets a new standard for Honda in the global motorcycle market, where electrification is progressing.
