The “Moriwaki Monaka 5-Piece Monster Box” contains real monaka in a case shaped like a monaka silencer. The monaka skin is made of glutinous rice and the filling is filled with bean paste. Available exclusively at the Moriwaki Online Shop.

Moriwaki Engineering’s (hereafter referred to as Moriwaki) “Monaka Muffler” is a popular exhaust system equipped with a unique silencer that has become synonymous with the company. A three-dimensional curved (concave) shape is formed on two metal plates using a press process. A silencer is built into the two metal pieces that are then joined together into a cylindrical shape by welding. Due to the manufacturing method and shape resembling a monaka (a type of Japanese wafer) sweet, exhaust systems that use this silencer are called “Monaka Mufflers.”

Moriwaki’s Monaka muffler has been used on racing machines since the company’s inception and has been a big hit. The technology developed in the racing scene has also been applied to commercial mufflers, and Moriwaki’s Monaka muffler has become established as a standard for sports mufflers. Moriwaki has since released various new mufflers, but the Monaka muffler remains extremely popular to this day.

The photo shows a muffler for the Honda Dax 125 that combines Moriwaki’s signature original silencer “MONSTER (commonly known as Monaka)” to create an old-style look. The combination of an aluminum silencer and a double-pipe middle pipe with a heat-shielding chamber achieves both a unified muffler design and heat-shielding functionality for the feet.

It produces a pleasant pulsating sound at low RPMs, and a crisp, dynamic exhaust sound that is characteristic of the MONSTER at high RPMs. In terms of driving, it achieves output characteristics that exceed the standard across the entire range, from low-mid RPMs to high RPMs. You can drive it leisurely, or rev it up a little for a lively ride. You can enjoy torqueful and fun driving in any situation.

The exhaust pipe is available in two types: stainless steel (see photo) and black (heat-resistant black paint). As it is a government-certified model, it can be used safely on public roads.
