Dirt Freak GE-N3…396,000 yen
Dirt Freak has begun selling a new electric moped called the GE-N3 (commonly known as Gen-san).
This model is the company’s first electric moped that can be driven on public roads, and is classified as a Type 1 motorized bicycle (equivalent to 50cc), so it can be driven with a regular car driver’s license or a motorcycle license (including mopeds). The retail price is 396,000 yen (tax included).
“Easy to look at and ride” concept
Dirt Freak announced the Meow, an electric off-road bike for children, in 2017, and has since developed and released the more serious WOOF. Now, they are launching the new GE-N3 onto the market.
The GE-N3 is based on the concept of being “easy to look at and ride.” With its compact body and lightweight design of just 58 kg, even beginners can easily ride it. When fully charged, the actual driving range in urban areas is approximately 50 to 60 km, and it can be charged in about four hours using a regular 100V power source.
Sophisticated design
It features a design that combines a calm, horizontal silhouette with a tool-like feel, and its stylish appearance that blends in with urban environments was highly praised, winning it the Good Design Award in 2024. It comes in two color variations: a chic blue-gray and a classic antique green.
Genuine performance with off-road DNA
Behind its calm appearance lies the off-road technology that Dirt Freak has cultivated over many years. Motocross and trial riders were also involved in the development, and the performance was honed through various off-road events. As it is not a competition vehicle, it is not designed for high-speed riding or big jumps, but its ability to traverse rough terrain at slow speeds is the best in its class, allowing you to enter the world of off-road without any hesitation.
