Daytona DE Series: From 195,800 yen
Daytona will release five new colors for the electric assist bicycles DE01 and DE01X starting in August 2025.
The DE01 features 20-inch wheels, an external 9-speed gearbox, and a range of approximately 70km. It weighs 17.8kg including the battery, and its folded size of 875mm x 390mm x 675mm makes it easy to carry. It is suitable for a wide range of heights, from 145cm to 185cm, making it ideal for both everyday transportation and as a travel companion.
On the other hand, the DE01X has a sportier specification, adopting an external 10-speed transmission and 20-inch ETRTO451 size wheels. It weighs 17.2 kg, and its range and auxiliary maximum speed are the same as the DE01. The price is 195,800 yen including tax for the DE01 and 278,300 yen for the DE01X.

Popular colors that were previously only available in limited quantities and colors that were discontinued in the past have been brushed up and are now back in the standard lineup. In addition, the lineup is designed to meet a wider variety of needs, with all-new pastel and two-tone colors.
The DE01 is back with the popular blue-black metallic color, complete with silver parts, creating a deep impression that shines indigo depending on the light. Turquoise pastel colors and a matte forest that suits the outdoors have also been added as regular models. The DE01X is available in the series’ first two-tone color, “Luminous Bronze,” and ivory with a striking pink sticker, emphasizing an urban and stylish impression.
The history of the DE01 series, which pursues design and practicality
Since development began in 2014, the DE01 series has combined seemingly contradictory elements – a folding structure and electric assist – and was released in 2015. Approximately 6,000 units have been shipped to date, and the bike has been well-received by many users. Its distinctive feature is the battery unit located behind the saddle, and its leather-like exterior makes it difficult to tell at first glance that it is an electric bike.
The DE01, developed under the concept of “a bike you’ll want to take pictures of,” stands out as a lifestyle-oriented model that goes beyond being just a means of transportation. In addition to the design of the bicycle itself, the company has also focused on in-house development of parts and assist units, and continues to manufacture products that emphasize safety and compliance with regulations.
Limited-time exhibition also held at Tokyo Station
The actual vehicle in the new “Luminous Bronze” color will be on display at JR Tokyo Station for seven days from June 12th to 18th. Although it will be for a short period of time, it will be a rare opportunity to see the vehicle in person. Advance orders are being accepted exclusively at Daytona Mobility dealers.
