Suzuki’s proud sports adventure tourer series, the V-Strom 650, has undergone a new development following a revision of the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. This series, which inherits the DNA of the legendary adventure model DR-BIG, released in 1988, combines the latest equipment with sophisticated riding performance.

Of particular note are the characteristics of the 645cm3 V-twin engine. It delivers seamless output characteristics from a powerful pulsating feeling at low rpm to mid- to high-rpm ranges. While complying with Japan’s 2020 exhaust gas regulations, the use of resin-coated pistons has achieved further improvements in output.

Its many highly practical features are also noteworthy. A large, three-stage adjustable windscreen and a large 20L fuel tank ensure comfort during long-distance touring. Furthermore, it also comes standard with the latest safety features such as two-stage selectable traction control and ABS.

The V-Strom 650 series lineup includes the ABS model, which uses lightweight 10-spoke aluminum cast wheels, and the XT ABS model, which uses tubeless wire-spoke wheels for enhanced adventure performance. The XT ABS model in particular comes standard with knuckle covers and an under-cowl, making it suitable for riding in harsh environments.

Practical equipment includes the Suzuki Easy Start System, which allows the engine to be started with one push, and Low RPM Assist, which supports driving at low speeds. The LCD meter panel displays information such as gear position, average fuel consumption, and cruising range, and a 12V accessory socket is also included as standard.

(*1) The curb weight is the total weight including fuel, lubricants, coolant, and battery fluid.

(*2) The fuel consumption rate is based on specified test conditions. Actual fuel consumption will vary depending on various factors, such as the operating environment (weather, traffic congestion, etc.), driving style, vehicle condition (equipment, specifications), and maintenance status.

(*3) The local fuel consumption rate is based on actual measurements taken at a constant vehicle speed.

(*4) The WMTC mode value is a calculated value based on the results of exhaust gas tests measured in an internationally standard driving mode that includes starting, accelerating, and stopping. Driving mode classes are classified by engine displacement and top speed.

(*5) The engine power display has changed from “PS/rpm” to “kW/rpm,” and the torque display has changed from “kgf・m/rpm” to “N・m/rpm.” Values in < > are reference values in the old units.
