BMW Motorrad R12 Custom Model: El Viento Builder: HAMANS CUSTOM

This R12 custom was created with inspiration from the driving potential of the standard R12.

While based on the theme of a cafe racer, the bike’s modern and avant-garde style is distinct from existing cafe styles and is expressed through its outstanding metalwork.

The design from the fuel tank to the seat cowl is a continuous surface that looks like a single piece.

The front end features an impressive dual headlight and handmade light cowl, with the handlebars mounted as low as possible.

The front and rear wheels are standard, but after the paint was stripped off, a gray Cerakote coating was applied.

Inspired by the driving potential of the stock R12, Matsumoto of HAMANS CUSTOM created the R12 custom “El Viento” shown in the photo. While based on the theme of a cafe racer, it has a modern, avant-garde style that sets it apart from existing cafe styles, and is expressed through outstanding metalwork.

The front end, with its striking dual headlights and handmade light cowl, mounts the handlebars as low as possible. The design from the fuel tank to the seat cowl is a continuous surface that appears to be one piece. In pursuit of the ideal seating position, the seat rails were made to order, and the air cleaner box was also made to order, further accentuating the presence of the R12’s steel tubular frame and boxer engine.

The front and rear wheels are standard, but the paint was stripped and then a gray Cerakote finish was applied. Combined with the matching exhaust system and earth-toned bodywork, the car has a subdued appearance, but the metalwork really stands out.
