Sophisticated design and improved comfort

The 2025 Yamaha TRACER 7 and TRACER 7 GT models have evolved in both design and equipment to further enhance their performance and comfort as sport tourers. The newly adopted 5-inch full-color TFT display features smartphone connectivity and enables turn-by-turn navigation via the Garmin StreetCross app. Other features include a USB-C port, self-canceling turn signals, and an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) that flashes hazard lights during emergency braking, all of which enhance convenience and safety while touring.

The riding position has also been revised, with the handlebars now 30mm higher and 25mm wider on both sides than before, allowing for a more relaxed riding position. The seat has a newly designed two-piece structure, and the rider’s height can be adjusted by 20mm without the need for tools. The GT model has a thicker seat cushion, further improving comfort during long-distance riding.

Powerful and easy-to-use engine performance

Both models are equipped with a 689cc liquid-cooled in-line twin-cylinder engine that complies with EURO5+ regulations, producing a maximum output of 72.4 horsepower (54kW) at 8750 rpm and a maximum torque of 68Nm at 6500 rpm. The adoption of a 270-degree crankshaft gives the engine the same pulsating feel and powerful acceleration as a V-twin engine. In addition, the introduction of an assist and slipper clutch reduces clutch operation by 22% compared to the previous model, allowing for smoother gear changes.

A new electronically controlled throttle (YCC-T) has been adopted, making it possible to switch between cruise control and riding modes. Three riding modes are available: “Sport,” “Street,” and “Custom,” allowing the rider to adjust engine output characteristics and traction control settings to suit their preferences.

Reinforced chassis and suspension

The 2025 model features improved frame rigidity and a longer swingarm (40mm) for improved stability at high speeds and when cornering. The front suspension features a 41mm diameter inverted fork with adjustable rebound damping. The rear is equipped with a mono shock, and the GT model features a remote preload adjuster that allows for easy setting depending on whether luggage or a passenger is present.

The braking system has also been revised, with twin 298mm discs and four-piston radially mounted calipers at the front for improved stopping power and control, while Michelin Pilot Road 6 GT tyres are fitted to both the front and rear for improved grip on wet and dry roads.

Touring equipment unique to GT models

The TRACER 7 GT is fully equipped for long-distance touring. The standard hard case has enough capacity to store a full-face helmet on each side, and its aluminum one-piece frame allows for stable mounting. The windscreen is 90mm higher and 1mm thicker than the standard model, and can be adjusted over a 60mm range. It also comes equipped with numerous other features that enhance comfort and convenience, such as heated grips with three temperature settings, a center stand, and footpegs with rubber inserts to reduce vibration.

The fuel tank capacity has been increased to 18 liters, and coupled with improved fuel efficiency, the cruising range reaches approximately 437 km. In addition, the seat height of the GT model can be adjusted from 845 mm to 865 mm, allowing for settings that suit the rider’s physique and preferences.

The 2025 Yamaha TRACER 7 and TRACER 7 GT models further enhance their sport tourer performance and are expected to be useful in a wide range of situations, from daily commuting to long-distance touring. Their sophisticated design, advanced electronic control technology, and a variety of comfort-focused equipment will provide riders with a new riding experience.
