The special color Two Four Nine pays tribute to the 1960 Big Bear Run victory.
Royal Enfield is a motorcycle brand founded in the UK in 1851. They have released models that have evolved into modern models while still recreating the classic form of the 1960s. The mid-class scrambler model, the Bear 650, has already been announced for introduction in Japan, and it was premiered at the Osaka Motorcycle Show, which was held from March 21st to 23rd.
The Bear 650 was developed with inspiration from the victory of the Royal Enfield 500 ridden by Eddie Mulder in the Big Bear Run, an enduro race held in California since the 1920s, the last of which was held in 1960. This model embodies the DNA of a full-fledged scrambler, recreating not only the design but also the durability and uncompromising performance.

The engine is the same water-cooled parallel twin SOHC 650cc engine as the Continental GT650.

The exhaust system features a rugged style muffler with a 2-into-1 exhaust system. The rear shock absorber is a SHOWA twin tube.

The front fork is a SHOWA USD big piston fork with a travel of 130mm.

The area around the handlebars is simple, and the round meter uses a TFT color LCD.
The engine is the same 650cc water-cooled parallel twin-cylinder SOHC 4-valve engine that was installed in the Continental GT650. It delivers ample power and torque with a maximum output of 34.9kW and a maximum torque of 56.5Nm. The 2-into-1 exhaust system increases torque and realizes a wide power band. You can experience the unique pulsating feeling that only a vertical twin can provide.
It expresses the classic scrambler style with scrambler-like caramel block tires, a round number plate, a long scrambler seat, etc. Five body colors are available, including a special color called “Two Four Nine,” named after Eddie Mulder’s number plate 249, in honor of his victory in the Big Bear Run.

The New CLASSIC 650, which has not yet been released in Japan, is also on display as a reference model. It is expected to be introduced in Japan.
Sales will begin at Royal Enfield authorized dealers nationwide from April onwards. The bike will also be exhibited at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show, which will be held from March 28th to 30th, and the Nagoya Motorcycle Show, which will be held from April 4th to 6th.
