Proposing new ways to utilize vacant houses

152INN, a lodging facility for riders renovated from a 56-year-old vacant house, opened on May 1, 2025 in Futamata, Tenryu Ward, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The project was planned by Sweets Investment Co., Ltd. (Shizuoka Gas Group) with the aim of revitalizing the vacant house and revitalizing the local area, and was realized in collaboration with local creators and construction teams.
“152INN” is located along National Route 152 and is available for exclusive use by only one group per day. The hotel is equipped with a private garage and is designed so that guests can stay with their beloved motorcycle. The dining room on the first floor has a floor that is lowered by approximately 10cm so that guests can be at eye level with their motorcycles when seated, creating a space that feels like a “secret base” for riders.
The accommodation space on the second floor retains a Showa-era retro atmosphere with tatami mats, shoji screens, and sliding doors, allowing for a comfortable stay. There is also an inner garage designed for security and facilities that can be used safely even on rainy days. A “recommended touring route map” created in collaboration with local riders will also be installed, allowing visitors to tour the surrounding tourist spots and nature.
Futamata, where 152INN is located, is known as the hometown of Soichiro Honda, the founder of the global motorcycle manufacturer Honda, and is a town where the spirit of craftsmanship lives on. The area around the facility is dotted with attractions such as the Honda Soichiro Manufacturing Heritage Museum, the Futamata Castle Ruins, and the Akino Fuku Art Museum, where you can experience the history and culture of the region.
This project has redefined vacant houses as a way to attract people to the area, and is attracting attention as a new model for revitalizing the local economy. “152INN” is not just a place to stay, but an “interactive inn” that offers interaction with the local community and cultural experiences, proposing a new style of travel to riders.
