The Cyclone from the movie “Shin Kamen Rider” will be on display! Based on the Honda CB650R [Japan Mobility Show 2025]

The movie “Shin Kamen Rider” is available exclusively on Prime Video / Blu-ray/DVD (standard version): 5,500 yen (tax included)

This bike, equipped with six impressive silencers reminiscent of a bazooka, is the Cyclone that appeared in the film “Shin Kamen Rider (Toei)” released in 2023.

“Kamen Rider,” originally created by manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori, first aired on television in 1971. Starting with Kamen Rider 1, played by actor Hiroshi Fujioka, the series has evolved into Kamen Rider 2, V3, X-Rider, and more, with the new “Kamen Rider Zetts” making its debut in September 2025. Kamen Rider Zetts continues to be a hero for children, both now and in the past.

The special effects TV series Kamen Rider is also famous as a stepping stone for young actors. Ryo Yoshizawa (Kamen Rider Meteor) starred in the 2025 hit movie “National Treasure.” It has also produced actors such as Joe Odagiri (Kamen Rider Kuuga), Masaki Suda (Kamen Rider W), Takeru Sato (Kamen Rider Den-O), and Jun Kaname (Kamen Rider G3), and is a popular series that attracts a lot of attention from moms as well as kids.

The film “Shin Kamen Rider” was produced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Kamen Rider’s birth. It is directed by Hideaki Anno, a master director known for such films as “Shin Godzilla” and “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time.”

The film, which has a PG12 rating (Note 1), respects the original work, but is clearly different in style from the children’s TV series, and is a new special effects entertainment piece for adults. I also watched the film, and found it very interesting, with the impression that “Welcome to the world of Anno, where you’ll be made to think about life.”

The Cyclone shown in the photo exhibited at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 is the actual motorcycle that was used and raced in the film. It is based on the naked sports Honda CB650R.

While retaining the nostalgic image of the original, such as the flowing touring-style cowlings and six large-diameter silencers resembling bazookas, the form is based on a modern motorcycle and is suitable for the “Reiwa Kamen Rider.”
