There have been many cases of pair adoption so far.

“The two companies are a great fit. Öhlins is a globally recognized brand with a solid business and a reputation for excellence both on the race track and on the road. This agreement represents a significant opportunity to expand Brembo’s offering for the automotive market and we welcome Öhlins into the Brembo Group. It marks another step forward in Brembo’s strategy to offer customers integrated intelligent solutions and will allow us to leverage synergies across our key technologies in the two-wheel and four-wheel sectors.”
This is what Brembo Chairman Matteo Tiraboschi said.
Brembo, arguably the world’s most well-known high-performance brake brand for two- and four-wheel vehicles, announced on October 16th that it would acquire suspension manufacturer Ohlins.
Brembo has agreed to acquire 100% of Öhlins Racing’s shares through Tenneco, a portfolio company of funds managed by an affiliate of Apollo Global Management.
Ohlins is also one of the world’s most well-known manufacturers of high-performance shock absorbers for automobiles and motorcycles. In the case of motorcycles, Ohlins is often used alongside Brembo for the highest-end specifications of models.
“By joining forces with Brembo, Öhlins expects to create new growth opportunities, leverage our individual strengths and assets, advance innovation and deliver even greater value to our customers and employees.”
“We’re thrilled to be working with Öhlins Racing to bring this to fruition,” said Tom Wittenschläger, CEO of Öhlins Racing.
The two vehicles are now considered an essential “package” for improving vehicle performance. If the two companies were to become related, it could speed up development and potentially reduce costs.
Incidentally, the wheel brand Marchesini is now also a member of Brembo, making Brembo a group company that handles all aspects of suspension.
