The first RS125, which appeared in 2001, was a full-fairing racer replica model (produced until the 2007 model) equipped with a water-cooled, two-stroke, single-cylinder 124.8cc engine mounted on an aluminum twin-spar frame.

In 2012, the RS4 125 was released as a successor to the RS125, featuring an aluminum perimeter frame and a water-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder DOHC, four-valve, 124cc engine (produced until the 2018 model).

In 2021, the previous RS4 125 was “revived” under the name “RS125.” The water-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder, DOHC, four-valve, 124cc engine mounted on an aluminum perimeter frame has been updated, and the exterior design has been completely redesigned. The lights have also been upgraded to LEDs.

The Tuono 125, released in 2017, is a street sports bike based on the RS4 125 with a full cowl, finished in a naked style with a bikini cowl (half cowl + under cowl). It underwent a minor change in 2021, with a completely new exterior design. The lights were changed to LED.

As of 2024, the new 2025 models of the RS125 and Tuono 125, which are on sale in Europe (but not yet introduced in Japan), will feature changes to the exterior graphics and detailed designs.

The electronic control system is also well-equipped, with deactivatable traction control and ABS to prevent tipping over in emergency braking. These features ensure that the front and rear wheels do not lose grip, improving stability when cornering and braking.

The engine is based on the previous model, but the details inside the engine and the muffler have been completely revised to comply with the latest exhaust gas regulations (Euro 5 Plus). The maximum output has been increased from 11kW (15ps)/10,000rpm to 11kW (15ps)/10,500rpm, and the maximum torque has been increased from 11.2N・m/8,000rpm to 11.5N・m/8,500rpm.

Aprilia | RSV4 Factory, RS660, RS125, etc. 6 models, 2023 graphic models introduced

Piaggio Group Japan Co., Ltd. has added new graphics to six models, from the flagship supersport to the Class 2 moped off-road model, introducing even sportier sports bikes, which will be released sequentially at authorized Aprilia dealers nationwide.
