Yamaha collaborates with Netflix anime

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Yamaha) collaborated on the production of the Netflix original anime “Tokyo Override,” which was released on November 21st.

The story is set in Tokyo 100 years in the future, where everything has become automated with AI. Traffic accidents have been reduced as much as possible, but motorcycles and motorcycle racing culture remain. The accidents that occur are difficult to predict even with AI, which is said to be what makes the story so interesting.

The film features an older model of the YZF-R1, and Yamaha was also in charge of the design of the bike 100 years in the future. They also assisted with recording image data and sound for the YZF-R1 and VMAX.

The bike from 100 years in the future has been named “Y/AI.” A life-size concept model has also been created and will be unveiled for the first time in the world at the Motor Expo 2024, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand from late November. Be sure to check out the model to see what Tokyo and motorcycle culture will be like in 100 years’ time, and how Yamaha has created the bike of the future.
