Cooperated in providing 3D image data and sound recording for the concept model “Y/AI” and Yamaha “YZF-R1” and “VMAX” that will be featured
Netflix original anime “Tokyo Override”
“Tokyo Overdrive” is set in Tokyo 100 years in the future, where AI has become a part of everyday life and urban life has become fully automated. It’s a sci-fi motorcycle action animation featuring both real and original motorcycles roaring through the streets.
This collaboration began when Netflix requested permission to use and select the company’s motorcycles for the anime.
Yamaha Motor provided 3D image data and sound recording for the YZF-R1 supersport bike and the VMAX road sport bike. Furthermore, with the goal of “inspiring more people to become interested in the world of motorcycles,” Yamaha Motor helped create the 100-year-in-the-future world featured in the anime, proposed mobility solutions, and designed the “Y/AI” racing machine. They also assisted in the visual and audio oversight. These three models will be animated and appear in the film. A
life-size concept model of the “Y/AI” will be produced and exhibited at the Motor Expo 2024, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from late November.
