“Yamaha Motorcycle Lessons” will be held again in 2025! Applications will open on Tuesday, January 28th (current as of January 28th, 2025. Additional information will be posted on the website as it becomes available).
Riding school where you can learn skills to enjoy riding safely
As in previous years, this year’s event will offer both on-road and off-road lessons. Both lessons will be conducted on personal bikes and on rental bikes. The popular “U35 Only Lessons” (limited to participants 35 and under), aimed at young riders and helping them make new friends, will also continue. The rental bike for on-road lessons will gradually be replaced with the MT-25, a road sports model popular among young riders as an entry model thanks to its upright riding position, nimble handling, and ease of riding in urban areas.
Yamaha Motorcycle Lessons are safety and outreach activities aimed at helping riders use Yamaha products safely, enjoyably, correctly, and effectively. Aimed primarily at beginners who have just obtained their license, those who have not yet made their public road debut after obtaining their license, and returning riders who have been away from motorcycles for a while due to work, marriage, or child-rearing, the lessons teach the fundamentals of safer, longer-lasting enjoyment of motorcycle riding. To make it easy for even those without a motorcycle to take part in the program, vehicles and equipment are provided for those who wish to participate. The instructors include former members of the Yamaha Racing Team.
In 2024, the program was held at 18 locations nationwide, with many participants receiving positive feedback, including comments like, “My anxiety about riding on public roads has eased,” “I was able to meet fellow motorcycle enthusiasts,” and “I was able to improve my skills while having fun.”
Additionally, Yamaha Motor’s global motorcycle safety and promotion initiative, “YRA (Yamaha Riding Academy),” which includes Yamaha motorcycle lessons, won the 2024 Good Design Award (sponsored by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion).
Based on the guiding principles of “Create, Nurture, and Connect,” the program was highly praised for its emphasis on expanding course content and effectiveness in line with changing circumstances.
This year’s program is scheduled to be held as shown in the attached table, with content designed to ease beginners’ anxieties and allow them to have fun while experiencing real improvement.

Parent-child motorcycle class

YRA Parent-Child Bike Class
As part of YRA, the company holds Parent-Child Motorcycle Classes, where parents support their children as they learn about motorcycle experiences. The classes are designed to progress step by step, with courses tailored to the child’s development. This activity is not only fun, but also leads to normative education such as risk management skills and rule compliance, and was awarded the Chairman’s Special Award at the 11th Kids Design Awards (sponsored by the Kids Design Council, supported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Consumer Affairs Agency, and the Cabinet Office). Courses are available for not only elementary school students, but also junior and senior high school students.
