Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Yamaha) announced a new model of the MT-07 on February 4, 2025. In addition to the standard model, the company will also offer the MT-07 Y-AMT, the first model to be equipped with the automatic transmission Y-AMT. The standard model will be priced at 968,000 yen (tax included), while the Y-AMT will be priced at 1,056,000 yen (tax included).
Further improved lightness
While maintaining the tradition and commitment to riding that the previous MT series has cultivated, this new model has undergone a new evolution. Thorough renovations have been made in the areas of engine performance, chassis design, and electronic control systems, with the aim of providing a next-generation riding experience. Equipped with the latest AT “Y-AMT”
The highlight of this model is the first-ever installation of the Y-AMT, an innovative automated manual transmission technology developed to provide the rider with a direct riding feel while eliminating the hassle of clutch operation and shift changes associated with conventional manual transmissions.
The electronic control unit instantly determines the timing of gear shifts and automatically performs optimal gear changes, enabling seamless acceleration and stable riding. This is expected to reduce stress in crowded urban areas and fatigue during long-distance touring, while also eliminating human operating errors during sports riding, resulting in further improved riding performance.
The Y-AMT not only provides the rider with a new driving experience and improved operability, but also further enhances the sporty appeal of the MT-07.
