Becoming a second factory team and supporting Yamaha
Plamac has competed in MotoGP as a privateer team until now, but in 2025 will restart as Yamaha’s second factory team.
Jorge Martin will be the main rider, and experienced riders Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira will also be joining the team. Team principal Paolo Campinoti said that he aims to further strengthen the partnership with Yamaha and once again establish himself as a winning manufacturer in the world’s top class of MotoGP.
The announcement of the new structure reflects a revamp of the previous management structure, with the aim of ensuring a successful season from both technical and strategic perspectives. Based on the YZR-M1, which incorporates Yamaha’s latest technology, the bike will be adjusted to bring out the best in each rider’s individuality and riding strengths.
Jorge Martin, in particular, is highly regarded for his overwhelming speed and racing sense, and is expected to bring a breath of fresh air to the World Championship. Jack Miller will utilize his past experience to support the team’s stability and balance. Miguel Oliveira will be welcomed in as a rider with an aggressive riding style that will further raise the team’s potential.
The new machine color scheme is a fusion of Yamaha blue and the sponsor’s purple, aiming to attract the attention of both existing and new fans. In terms of sponsorship, Prima Assicurazioni and other partners have strengthened their support for the team’s reconstruction. This announcement goes beyond simply strengthening the team’s rider lineup, suggesting a comprehensive upgrade in terms of management and technology.
The 2025 season is scheduled to begin with the Thai Grand Prix on March 2nd, with a total of 22 races.
