Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the 2025 model of the Super Cub C125 in Europe. While retaining its traditional style, it has been further evolved with the latest technology.

New colors available to meet the latest exhaust gas standards

The 2025 model features a new two-tone color scheme and improved environmental performance. It is equipped with an air-cooled SOHC engine that complies with the EURO5+ emission regulations. An O2 sensor has been added, an improved catalyst, and ECU settings have been optimized. Fuel economy is 1.5L/100km (WMTC mode).

The 124cc engine delivers a maximum power output of 7.2kW/7,500rpm and a maximum torque of 10.4Nm/6,250rpm, ensuring smooth riding performance. The 4-speed gearbox still uses an automatic centrifugal clutch, allowing for easy shifting without the need for a clutch lever.

Tandem seat is standard equipment

Comfort has also been improved. The front forks and rear shock absorbers have been adjusted to ensure a smooth ride even on rough city roads. In addition, a passenger seat and footpegs are fitted as standard, making it suitable for tandem riding. Full LED lighting has been adopted to improve visibility, and a smart key has been added for added convenience.

In terms of design, it respects tradition while incorporating a modern twist. The striking “S-shaped silhouette” remains the same, inheriting the beauty of the original. The frame has a steel backbone structure, maintaining an appropriate balance of rigidity and achieving stable riding performance. The handlebars feature tapered handlebars incorporating switch gear and instruments, fusing classic design with modern functionality.

The suspension system that supports the riding performance is also substantial. Equipped with large 17-inch wheels, it provides a stable ride. A 220mm disc brake at the front and a 110mm drum brake at the rear ensure safety. Optional USB sockets and heated grips are also available to support a comfortable ride.

Retro modern style loved around the world

The Super Cub is a beloved model not only in Japan but around the world. In Japan, it is often used for business purposes such as mail delivery, and in Southeast Asia it is an essential means of personal transportation. In Europe, it is also popular as a motorcycle that combines retro style with practicality.

Since its release in 1958, the Super Cub has evolved to meet the needs of the times. The initial model was developed to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Honda’s founding, and embodied the philosophy of Soichiro Honda and Takeo Fujisawa: “To provide joy that is useful in people’s lives.” Since then, global production has reached 100 million units in 2017, making it one of the most successful motorcycles in history.

The Super Cub is also deeply rooted in cultures and societies around the world. In the United States, the 1960s advertising campaign, “When you ride a Honda, you’ll meet the most amazing people,” revolutionized the image of motorcycling. It was also made famous by the Beach Boys’ song “My Little Honda.” Furthermore, in Japan, the design was registered as a three-dimensional trademark in 2014, officially recognizing it as an iconic motorcycle.

The latest Super Cub C125 carries on this tradition while being updated for modern riders, incorporating cutting-edge technology while continuing to offer the same ease of riding and reliability.
