MT-07 Y-AMT… 1,056,000 yen

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Yamaha) will release a model change version of the road sports model “MT-07 ABS” on February 26, 2025. The price will be 968,000 yen (tax included) for the standard model and 1,056,000 yen (tax included) for the model equipped with “Y-AMT.”
This model change includes a wide range of improvements, such as the first adoption of the electronically controlled throttle “YCC-T,” a newly designed frame and rear arm, and an inverted front suspension. In addition, the lineup will also include the new “MT-07 Y-AMT ABS,” which is equipped with the automatic transmission “Y-AMT,” which does not require clutch or shift pedal operation.
Newly adopted electronically controlled throttle

The new MT-07 ABS was developed based on the concept of “The Advocator of Riding Delight,” and is characterized by a torqueful engine, an easy-to-handle body, and excellent cost performance. This model change has resulted in improvements to the quality, advanced features, and lightness, making it even more attractive as an entry-level model for large sports bikes.
The main changes include the first adoption of the “YCC-T” (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle), which realizes smooth torque characteristics across the entire rev range, providing response and power characteristics that are in line with the rider’s intentions. In addition, tuning of the intake system has resulted in a sound that accentuates the torqueful feeling.
To improve riding performance, a newly designed frame and rear arms with optimized rigidity balance have been adopted. The suspension has also been strengthened with changes to the settings of the inverted front suspension and link-type Monocross suspension, as well as specially designed Spin Forged wheels. Furthermore, the bike is packed with functional equipment, including a 5-inch full-color TFT meter and new compact LED headlights and LED position lights.
Adopts the new generation automatic transmission mechanism “Y-AMT”

The newly introduced “MT-07 Y-AMT ABS” is equipped with the “Yamaha Automated Transmission (Y-AMT),” an automatic gear-shifting transmission that eliminates the need to operate the clutch lever or shift pedal. “Y-AMT” is a system in which an actuator automatically performs clutch and shift operations, allowing the rider to intuitively change gears using the seesaw-type shift lever on the left side of the handlebars. It also features an AT mode that automates gear changes, supporting comfortable riding in a variety of situations, such as around town, on highways, and on winding roads.
“Y-AMT” is the culmination of technologies that Yamaha has been continuously developing since developing and commercializing the world’s first automated manual transmission system for motorcycles, “YCC-S,” in 2006. It combines high sportiness and convenience, reduces the burden on the rider, and is attracting attention as a technology that contributes to improving the enjoyment of riding a motorcycle and the sense of unity between the rider and the machine.
The MT-07 ABS and MT-07 Y-AMT ABS are models that combine Yamaha’s latest technology and design, and are expected to provide riders with a fresh riding experience.
