The VINO, released by Yamaha in March 1997, is a popular 50cc scooter with a pretty and retro style. The commercial mascots for the model were the popular duo PUFFY, who had just debuted in 1996. With its cute, rounded form, it has been popular with young women since its debut.
VINO means “wine” in Italian. It was named as a scooter that evokes a bright, Italian-style image, as well as a glamorous and elegant image. It has evolved with the times, changing from a 2-stroke engine to a 4-stroke, and from a carburetor to fuel injection. As a long-selling model, it remains in the lineup as the “face” of Yamaha’s 50cc scooters as of March 2025.
The popular Vino, known for its retro-pop style, is reproduced in 1/12 scale as a plastic model, as seen in the photo. Produced using additional molds, the product comes in two varieties: the colorful 2013 model and the 2016 model.
No adhesive is required and assembly is easy (separate tools are required for assembly). Each part is divided into colors that match the actual car, so you can create a beautiful finished product without painting (some areas require decals or painting).
