Kawasaki Motors Corporation is hosting a special exhibition at Kawasaki World beginning in September 2023, showcasing the company’s 70-year history in motorcycles through iconic products from the era.
This fourth installment focuses on the Japanese market, primarily in the 1980s. Japan’s motorcycle exports expanded during the period of rapid economic growth, and high-performance, large, “Made in Japan” motorcycles were embraced by riders worldwide. Motorcycles also grew in popularity in Japan, particularly among young people, and the 1980s ushered in an unprecedented motorcycle boom.
This exhibition, themed on the “passionate youth,” introduces Kawasaki’s legendary motorcycles that powered the era alongside young people and Kawasaki Motors Japan, the company that supported their sales.
Riders of the time will reminisce about their bittersweet youthful nostalgia, while riders of the Reiwa era will enjoy the pop and retro world of the Showa and Heisei eras, each with its own unique perspective.
*Until March 30th, the third installment of this special exhibition will feature famous cars that were popular in the European market from the 1970s to the 1990s.
