The latest in “super naked” design, combining tradition and modernity

Kawasaki has announced the release of a new high-end model, the Z900 SE, for its flagship Z series, the Z900. This model was unveiled at the Osaka Motorcycle Show 2025.

It will be released on April 12, 2025, priced at 1,694,000 yen. Based on the sharp acceleration and light handling performance of the conventional Z900, the suspension and braking performance have been strengthened, making it suitable for higher-level sports riding. The aggressive and muscular styling characteristic of the Z is still alive and well, making it a bike that combines performance and beauty at a high level.

Powerful 948cc engine delivers exhilarating acceleration

At the heart of the Z900 SE is a 948cc water-cooled, four-stroke, in-line, four-cylinder DOHC engine that produces a maximum output of 92kW (125PS) at 9,500rpm and a maximum torque of 98.6Nm at 7,700rpm.

This engine has a sharp response to throttle operation, accelerates tenaciously from the low to mid-range, and revs up smoothly to high revolutions. The intake and exhaust system and FI settings give it easy-to-handle characteristics in a wide range of situations, from city driving to winding roads and circuits. The engine sound also has the sensuality that is characteristic of the Z series, and is finished in a way that strongly evokes the joy of revving.

Advanced suspension and braking systems from Öhlins and Brembo

The biggest improvement of the Z900 SE is in its specially equipped suspension. The rear suspension is equipped with a high-performance Öhlins S46 rear shock unit. Adjustable rebound damping force and preload are possible, achieving both flexibility and stiffness, and significantly improving the rear tire’s contact with the ground and traction performance.

Furthermore, the front brake combines a Brembo M4.32 caliper with a 300mm semi-floating disc, delivering a premium feel in both braking power and control. The master cylinder and hose are also specially designed, delivering braking performance befitting a super naked bike.

High level of safety and driving performance supported by electronic control

The Z900 SE also has a well-equipped electronic control system. By combining two power modes, three-stage KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control), and riding modes (Sport/Road/Rain/Custom), it is possible to set the bike according to road conditions and the rider’s skill.

The ABS and traction control are both natural and highly accurate, ensuring the rider feels safe even when riding aggressively. The colorful TFT LCD meter is also Bluetooth compatible and can be linked to the Kawasaki Rideology app, which can be connected to a smartphone to check various information. This supports the rider in both convenience and visibility.

Equipment focused on styling and operability

The design inherits the traditional sharpness and modulation of the Z series, while being differentiated by graphics and coloring exclusive to the SE specification. The combination of Metallic Spark Black and Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray creates an exterior that is both luxurious and sporty.

The seat shape and riding position have also been carefully considered, providing both freedom during sporty riding and comfort during touring. The fuel tank has a capacity of 17 liters, providing ample range for long rides.

The perfect high-grade naked bike that embodies the spirit of the Z

The Z900 SE is a model that further refines the versatility of the previous model, while also taking its riding quality and sporty performance to another level.

The adoption of Öhlins and Brembo has dramatically improved the suspension, the sense of security provided by electronic controls, and the emotional acceleration that is characteristic of the Z. This model, which combines all of these elements at a high level, is truly worthy of the title “Super Naked,” and marks an important turning point in the history of the Z series.

This is a new standard for highly refined naked bikes that gives riders both the joy of handling and the satisfaction of owning it.
