New mobility options following changes to traffic rules

On April 1, 2025, amendments to the Traffic and Road Act will make it possible to drive Class 2 mopeds with a regular driver’s license. In line with this change, eplus Mirai LLC has simultaneously announced the next-generation electric motorcycles “RHINO A” and “RHINO B.” These models meet a variety of needs, from urban areas to outdoor scenes, and are environmentally friendly as they are 100% electric motorcycles that do not require gasoline.

Features and specifications of “RHINO A” and “RHINO B”

The “RHINO A” is a pedal-equipped model and will be unveiled on CAMPFIRE. Meanwhile, the “RHINO B” is a pedal-less model and will be unveiled on Makuake. Both models are available in Class 1 and Class 2 mopeds, allowing you to choose the model that best suits your needs.

Equipped with high-intensity LED headlights, it ensures visibility up to 50 meters even when riding at night. The front turn signals are sequential, improving visibility and design. The front and rear suspensions are upright, and their lightweight and low center of gravity design makes them easy to handle and turn. Furthermore, the front suspension, which can be adjusted in strength, ensures smooth riding even over bumps and off-road.

The bike is equipped with fat tires measuring 20 inches in diameter and 4 inches wide, allowing for stable driving on gravel and snowy roads. Hydraulic disc brakes are standard on both the front and rear, providing strong braking power with little effort. The bike is equipped with a high-performance, large-capacity 21.5AH battery, allowing for a range of approximately 70km on a single charge. Charging costs are economical at less than 15 yen.

The saddle has excellent cushioning, maintaining comfort even during long rides. The frame is made of durable aluminum alloy A6061, making it lightweight and strong. The monitor complies with the IPX5 waterproof standard, making it suitable for sudden rain. It also has a USB port, allowing you to charge your smartphone or other devices.

The LED monitor is highly visible and clearly displays information such as speed and remaining battery power. The battery is designed to be easily removed from the side and is also equipped with a locking mechanism to prevent theft. A smart key with anti-theft functionality ensures security. The vehicle size is designed to fit the average height of Japanese people, making it easy to operate for both men and women.

Environmentally friendly and economical

The RHINO A and RHINO B are zero-emission bikes that use 100% electric energy and emit no exhaust gases or CO2 while in motion. They are also extremely quiet, allowing you to ride them at night in residential areas without worrying about noise. As no vehicle inspections are required, maintenance costs are reduced, offering significant economic benefits.

There are two charging methods: removing the battery and charging directly into the vehicle, which can be selected depending on the parking location and environment. The original motor ensures smooth running even on 30-degree slopes and provides powerful driving power even on snowy roads.

Warranty and Maintenance

The frame comes with a 10-year warranty, ensuring long-term use. Its five-speed mode allows for precise speed adjustment to suit the riding situation. The attachment-style design allows 90% of the parts to be easily replaced by the user, significantly reducing maintenance costs. In the unlikely event that repairs are necessary, the manufacturer is ready to handle them directly at its factory in Japan.

With these features, the RHINO A and RHINO B will likely become a popular new mobility option following the legal changes.
